We’ve included all of the Dead Sea Blue boss fight locations in Far Cry 5, as well as how to beat each one using the best strategies.
The First Dead Sea Blue Boss Fight - John Watson
The first Dead Sea Blue boss fight in Far Cry 5 occurs in Chapter Two, when you’re tasked with taking down John Watson. In the latter half of the game, you’ll face him again, this time in impenetrable armor. He’s not the only Dead Sea Blue boss, though – there’s also Kronosaurus, who you need to defeat in order to progress the story in Far Cry 5.
All Dead Sea Blue Boss Fights
John Watson is the leader of Dead Sea Blue, and you’ll face him multiple times throughout the game. In his first encounter with you in Chapter Two, he wields a Grenade Launcher, which he uses to fire at you. Your goal is to dodge his grenades and continue shooting him whenever possible. Watson’s hook attack deals significant damage, so you’ll want to keep moving as soon as you see him charging.
John Watson – Chapter Two Boss Fight
You face off against Watson once again in Chapter Four, this time inside an impenetrable armor. He also has a new weapon in the form of missiles. Watson can shoot these missiles at you and at structures, causing them to explode. You can use this against him, as you can deflect his mines back at him using the Baseball Bat.
There are two phases to the Watson boss fight in Chapter Four. During the first phase, you’ll want to dodge his missiles and continue shooting him. Once his armor takes too much damage, he’ll exit the suit and run away. At this point, you can use the same Baseball Bat charged attacks to hit bombs and mines, which will redirect them back towards Watson, hitting him.
In the second phase, Watson can now shoot mines. These mines roll on the ground and explode after a few seconds. Once again, you’ll want to use the Baseball Bat charged attacks to hit the bombs and mines, which will redirect them towards Watson, causing him damage.
Watson’s armor in Chapter Four is impervious to bullets, but you can use his own missiles and bombs against him. His hook attack also deals a lot of damage, so be sure to keep moving when you see him charging at you.
After defeating Watson, you’ll receive a mechanical part to create a new diving suit. The game also warns you about the boss fight starting during a party at Bancho Sushi in Chapter One. While this isn’t technically a Dead Sea Blue boss fight, we’ve included it here for simplicity’s sake.
Simply swim upward to dodge Watson’s grenades, and keep shooting him whenever possible. Watson’s grenades cause significant damage, so you’ll want to avoid them at all costs. Make sure you’re also shooting him whenever you can.
The Armored Suit Watson Wears in Chapter Four
The armored suit Watson wears in Chapter Four is impervious to bullets, but you can use his own missiles and bombs against him. His hook attack also deals a lot of damage, so be sure to keep moving when you see him charging at you.
More Dead Sea Blue Boss Fights
The Dead Sea Blue boss fights don’t stop here, as you’ll fight Watson again in Chapter Six, this time he’s inside an impenetrable submarine. You’ll need to dodge his attacks until Kronosaurus appears and destroys Watson’s submarine. This boss fight also has two phases.
In the first phase, Watson will shoot missiles at you while he’s on top of the submarine. Make sure you’re not near any of the explosions, as they deal significant damage. You can shoot him with the Crossbow and Pistol, but it’s better to save your bullets for the second phase.
The second phase involves Watson inside the submarine, which has now become heavily armored. You’ll notice that the walls near the Control Room tear open during this fight, releasing Kronosaurus. Your goal is to defeat Kronosaurus before continuing the story.
You’ll want to dodge Watson’s attacks, but it’s important to stay close to him. As he’s charging, he’ll leave an opening to hit him with a melee attack. This is the only way to deal damage during this phase, so use it whenever you can.
You can also use charged attacks with the Baseball Bat to hit bombs and mines, which you can deflect using the Baseball Bat. This will redirect the bombs and mines back towards Watson, hitting him. You can also hit Watson’s missiles with charged Crossbow or Pistol shots, which will deal a lot of damage.
