Want to know more about the Final Fantasy 16 Eikons? These mythical creatures are a crucial part of the story in the game. The people of Valisthea fear and worship the Eikons, using them as instruments of war.

The Eikons in Final Fantasy 16 each represent an element like fire, wind, and lightning. The known Eikons we’ve seen so far in the RPG game are Ifrit, the Eikon of fire; the Phoenix, a sacred beast of rebirth; Shiva, the Eikon of ice; Ramuh, the Eikon of lightning; Garuda, the Eikon of wind; Titan, the Eikon of earth; Bahamut, the Eikon of water; and Odin, the Eikon of the sky. Each Eikon has a host that controls its power, and the power of Eikons comes from Aether, the life force of Valisthea and the source of magic.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Final Fantasy 16 Eikons.

How to use Eikon abilities in Final Fantasy 16

When a Dominant summons their Eikon, they tower over normal people and can annihilate entire armies. The power of Eikons is extraordinary, and this is reflected in the way Final Fantasy 16 handles them.

When a Dominant uses an Eikon ability, it drains their life force faster. Repeated use of Eikon abilities reduces a Dominant’s life force to zero and either robs them of their Eikon power or kills them.

Final Fantasy 16 explains that Dominants in Valisthea are either revered or enslaved. The Rosfield royal family controls the Phoenix Eikon, inherited by Clive’s younger brother, Joshua. During an assassination attempt on the king and queen, Clive awakens a second Eikon of fire, Ifrit. After defeating the assassins, Clive absorbs their Ifrit, granting him the ability to control the element of fire.

Clive can absorb other Eikons, giving him multiple elemental powers. The game doesn’t say whether this increases the rate at which Clive’s life force is drained as well.

The stronger the Eikon, the more powerful its abilities are. The known Eikons in Final Fantasy 16 are all immensely powerful, but some are more powerful than others.
