Final Fantasy 16: A Diverse Cast with Unique Classes

Final Fantasy 16 introduces a cast of characters with unique classes. While the RPG game retains the traditional set of jobs found in other entries in the series, the characters in Final Fantasy 16 have unique class designs to suit their skills and personalities.

With the introduction of a new continent and royal family in Final Fantasy 16, there is a new cast of characters. These characters come from different backgrounds and have their own unique designs and classes. While there are plenty of traditional jobs in Final Fantasy 16, some characters have special class designs that are drastically different from their peers.

The Classes in Final Fantasy 16

Clive is the main character of Final Fantasy 16, and his class is fitting of his swordplay-centric personality. The protagonist receives the Phoenix’s blessing, granting him the power to heal and enhance his sword and magic abilities. Clive’s class allows him to be sustainable in combat, using his sword and healing abilities to attack enemies.

Joshua also has a unique class, which can be attributed to his unique abilities as a Mystic Knight. The younger brother of Clive is blessed with healing powers, making him a suitable candidate for the class. Mystic Knights are also known to be formidable combatants, able to endure attacks and dish out high-damage attacks in return. The Mystic Knight class also allows Joshua to use elemental attacks, drawing power from Shiva.

Benedikta, the Dominant of Garuda, is a fitting Red Mage due to her magic and swordplay mix. While she is more of a fighter than Clive, she still relies on her magic abilities to attack from a distance. The Dominant of Garuda also uses her scarf to fly, granting her some mobility and aerial attacks.

Cid wields two long swords, resembling the Sword Saint class. The mentor to Clive bears a scar on his right eye and a lengthy mustache, fitting into the aesthetic of the Sword Saint class. While we do not know if Cid can use healing magic, he still embodies the Sword Saint class due to his fighting style and his appearance.

Hugo is a Monk, a classic Final Fantasy class with powerful fists. While the class is common, Hugo’s design is quite different, resembling a powerful bodybuilder. His Titan gauntlets give him a huge advantage in combat, making him a strong physical attacker.

Benedikta’s counterpart, Hugo’s boss, and the Dominant of Garuda’s enemy, Hugo’s design differs from Benedikta’s. The Economic Advisor is a classic Black Mage, using powerful ice spells to attack from a distance. The Black Mage class is one of the original jobs in the Final Fantasy series, and Hugo’s appearance matches the design of the iconic mage from the series.

Final Fantasy 16’s royal family consists of a Dragoon, Monk, and a Black Mage. Ash’s iconic Dragoons are represented in the form of the Crown Prince of The Holy Empire of Sanbreque. The Holy Knights Dragoons resemble Templar Knights with their unique design. Ash’s fighting style is based on his lance and jumping abilities, making him a powerful Dragoon. His armor also features gold trim, a design choice that reflects the wealth and power of the Empire of Sanbreque.

Barnabas embodies the Dark Knight class with his edgy appearance, black armor with gold trim, and formidable blade. Barnabas is feared for his power and mysterious presence in the continent of Waloed. While there are no official details on Barnabas’s background, his menacing look and awe-inspiring physique give him the aura of a Dark Knight.

That’s every class in Final Fantasy 16 that we know of so far. With so many unique characters and their fitting classes, it’s easy to see why Final Fantasy 16 is one of the best RPGs on PC.
