Final Fantasy 16: Explore every story quest

Wondering what all the story quests are in Final Fantasy 16? Join the bros in their epic journey as they investigate a cursed city, face off against an NDA-signing dragon, and generally have as many hotdogs as they possibly can.

The main story quests in Final Fantasy 16 are the highlight. Throne of Tides, the war against Niflheim, and the main campaign are the pillars of the game. However, many of the side quests add new regions and characters to the captivating world of Eos, giving the game a much-needed breadth of scope. The best Final Fantasy 16 side quests are more than just a distraction from the main action – they offer viable breakpoints from the main story while rewarding you with useful story beats and character development, or just some good old-fashioned insights into Eosian cuisine.

Final Fantasy 16 main quests

Here are all of the main story quests in Final Fantasy 16:

A Flame Summoned

When you hear someone say, “A Flame Summoned,” it’s not an invitation to throw parties with a fireplace theme. A Flame Summoned refers to the Trial of Flame, an initiation test for a potential recruit to the hunters’ association. Of course, someone’s trying to cheat it, and these trials have caught the attention of our intrepid duo.

To Kill a Dominant

Hunters aren’t the only ones cheating the Trial of Flame. Apparently, the Niflheim army is committing the same faux pas, and it’s up to Libertus and Gladio to stop them. The mission leads our intrepid demolition expert and his furry companion to the site of an abandoned military base.

Pride

When hunting giant monsters with a raging sun beating down on them, there’s no greater foe than their very own pride. Despite the pride instilled in him by Libertus and Cor, Gladio often feels less than adequate compared to the mighty Fang. In his darker moments, Gladio even questions why he’s a part of the Lightning Crew.

Sunrise, Sunset

As part of their broader hunt for the Niflheim defector, Cor heads to the Disc of Cauthess to investigate. This time, Rava’s following him to investigate the monster divets left behind by behemoth. They also have to contend with birds and a trip face-first into a swamp. If only Cor could’ve kept his footing a little bit better.

Lost in a Fog

A toxic haze is cloaking the city of Lutea, causing chaos and confusion. The previous mission to thin the fog led to a failed mission to rescue two girls with Gladio in hot water. Despite the chaos, the Lightning Crew remains resolute, and they need to find the source of the fog with the help of Tilbensi.

Flight of the Fledgling

A return to the Disc of Cauther is a reminder to Cor, despite his protestations, that he wasn’t always part of the Lightning Crew. He was coerced into becoming a part of their gang, leading to him running away from their base and his former master, Cid. Get ready for some flashbacks.

A Chance Encounter

When heading to the Disc of Cauther, Cor and the others encounter the roadblock gang covering Gladio from a terrifying behemoth sighting. One of the faces behind the thugs is someone that Gladio is mortified to see again.
