The Wilds Theme
One of the most noticeable changes in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 is the new jungle theme. The island has been transformed into a lush, adventurous location with jungle ruins and abundant wildlife. These changes not only affect the Fortnite map but also the gameplay itself.
The jungle ruins play a crucial role in the storyline of Season 3. Players will embark on Snapshot missions to recover artifacts and uncover secrets hidden within the ruins.
Exploring the jungle provides numerous reliable sources of items. Countless barrels and chests can be found throughout the tropical forest, along with a variety of new traps. Traps in Fortnite now come in the form of vines and bouncy mushrooms, allowing for unpredictable traversal through the environment.
Beyond the island, players will encounter lamps with different effects when damaged. Some lamps will explode, while others release poisonous gas. Certain bulbs even possess healing properties, providing useful benefits during exploration.
Raptors Return
Raptors, introduced in Season 2, make a comeback in Season 3. These formidable creatures offer speedy traversal across the island and can be quickly dispatched for the player to ride once again.
Weapon Updates
Season 3 brings several reworked weapons to Fortnite. The Kinetic Boomerang is a notable addition that deals significant damage without requiring ammo. Similar to a boomerang, it returns to the user if the target is missed.
Another new addition is the Wildwasp Jar, which releases aggressive wasps to attack opponents in a firefight. If an enemy enters its cone of vision, the jar will fly straight towards them, dealing damage and slowing their movement speed. Players will also be able to complete challenges by shooting or dealing damage to Wildwasp Jars.
