PUBG Takes Back the Crown

Fortnite may have briefly stolen PUBG's throne, but the Battle Royale game has now reclaimed its position at the top. Following the launch of Fortnite season 10, both games experienced a surge in sales. Despite concerns about the 'pubstomp' emote promoting unsportsmanlike behavior, PUBG's latest update has been warmly received, leading to a significant increase in sales.

The Battle Royale Market

Fortnite has seen a 56% growth in sales over the past six months, accounting for 12% of the entire battle royale game market. While Fortnite continues to dominate the genre, PUBG's market share has also grown, with a 123% increase in sales over the same period. PUBG now holds a 15% share of the battle royale game market.

PUBG's Latest Update

PUBG's patch 5.20 introduced exciting new content, including a new map called Kelantan, a variant of the UAZ vehicle known as the 'UAZ-6', and the 'Ace' pistol. Many players have praised these additions, particularly the new map. However, some have expressed disappointment with the update, citing concerns about the new emote from Fortnite season 10 potentially leading to pubstomping.

Despite the complaints, a majority of PUBG players have taken a light-hearted approach and responded with humor. Some have even jokingly suggested uninstalling Fortnite instead. While there are frustrations among players, with some accusing Fortnite of stealing PUBG's ideas, others are eagerly awaiting new content, including a new map, weapon, vehicle, and game mode.

Although Fortnite season 10 briefly dethroned PUBG, the multiplayer game continues to receive positive feedback from its player base. While some express disappointment with the update and its potential impact on pubstomping, many players are enjoying the new map and embracing the light-hearted banter between the two communities.
