GTA Online heists: The Ultimate Guide

Looking for a list of the best GTA Online Heists? Heists are the biggest, and most lucrative missions available in GTA Online. Since the introduction of Heists in GTA Online, the game has been transformed, offering a more serious, story-driven experience. These missions offer a more complex and challenging approach to the base game, with multi-part missions and the need for a team of players to pull them off.

When Heists first launched in 2015, Rockstar Games had said that it would be “an ongoing series of multiplayer events”. While that hasn’t quite been fulfilled, we did get a new heist every year until the release of Red Dead Redemption 2, when one final heist was added to GTA Online as a thank you to fans for sticking with the game during the long wait for the Wild West game. In total there are seven heists available in GTA Online, each with different requirements, payouts, and levels of difficulty. Here’s a breakdown of each of the GTA Online heists, ranked by payout, difficulty, and whether or not you can do them solo.

The heists in GTA Online are:

  • The Fleeca Job
  • The Prison Break
  • Humane Labs Raid
  • Pacific Standard
  • Doomsday Heist
  • Diamond Casino Heist
  • Cayo Perico

The Fleeca Job

This heist is the easiest and requires two players. The setup mission, Fleeca Job – Scope Out, sees you and your co-conspirator investigate the bank from which you will be stealing. It’s a straightforward mission but does require a bit of stealth since the area is controlled by the Lost Motorcycle Club.

Payout: $280,000

Difficulty: Easy

Soloable: Yes

The Prison Break

The Prison Break heist is one of the more popular heists and requires four players. This story-driven heist sees you and your crew breaking into the Bolingbroke Penitentiary to rescue a high-profile criminal. There’s a lot more to this heist than meets the eye, as there are several setup missions that need to be completed before you’re ready to spring the prisoner.

Payout: $1,800,000 (if you rescue the prisoner) $1,500,000 (if you don’t)

Difficulty: Hard

Soloable: No

Humane Labs Raid

The Humane Labs Raid is a thrilling heist in GTA Online and sees you and your crew attempting to steal experimental pharmaceuticals from the Humane Labs research facility. This heist has a lot going on, as you’ll need to complete five setup missions before you can pull off the main mission. There’s also a lot of waiting around for the next part of the heist to unlock, but once it does, you’ll be treated to a high-octane mission full of explosions, gunfire, and abject chaos.

Payout: $1,650,000

Difficulty: Medium

Soloable: No

Pacific Standard

The Pacific Standard heist is a high-stakes bank robbery that sees you and your crew attempting to rob the Pacific Standard Bank in downtown Los Santos. This heist is a little more straightforward than some of the others and is a good introduction to heist missions in GTA Online. The setup missions are straightforward, and once you’re ready, you’ll be treated to a lengthy escape sequence as you try to evade the cops.

Payout: $1,500,000

Difficulty: Medium

Doomsday Heist

The Doomsday Heist consists of three acts, each with its own setup missions and objectives. The first act, Operation Fairplay, sees you stealing missiles from the IAA and leads into Act 2, The Humane Labs Raid, in which you’ll be raiding the Humane Labs research facility. Act 3, Crises in Civilization, has you fighting to survive in the aftermath of a global nuclear catastrophe.

Diamond Casino Heist

The Diamond Casino Heist is perhaps the most lucrative heist in GTA Online, offering a big payout if you can get in and out the casino with the goods. This heist is quite straightforward, but there are a few caveats you need to be aware of. The payout is dependent on what you steal from the vaults, so you’ll need to make sure you take the right things. You can also earn extra money by selling what you steal to the fences, but be sure to sell before you return to the safehouse.

Payout: $4,400,000 (if you take the correct goods) $2,600,000 (if you don’t)

Difficulty: Easy

Soloable: Yes

Cayo Perico

The Cayo Perico Heist is perhaps the most versatile heist in GTA Online. You can choose to rob the private island owned by a notorious drug lord, taking all of the drugs and money that are being stored there. Alternatively, you can take the cash from the safe in the house instead. This heist is also one of the more straightforward ones, with the difficulty level being determined by how many players are on the mission.

Payout: $1,000,000 (robbing the drugs), $800,000 (robbing the money)

Difficulty: Easy
