Life By You: Delayed for Improvements

The Open-world Sims game Life By You, from former Sims label head Rod Humble, has been delayed, with the early access launch pushed back to 2024. Initially planned for a 2019 early access release, the game aims to offer a more direct control experience than the virtual dollhouse games of The Sims, and “real language conversations.”

In a post on the game’s site, developer Paradox Tectonic says that the early access release, originally planned for September, has been pushed back to March 5, 2024. The team says that the extra time will allow for improvements in visuals, UI, and mod tools.

“We do not want to rush the release and deliver an incomplete experience that does not meet your expectations, which is why we have decided to delay the release,” the team writes. “This will give us time to fully implement all the features we want in the game.”

Paradox Tectonic says it values player feedback “because it leads to positive changes,” and so the team says it will share a preview of the updated interface and detailed changes soon. The studio also says that the current early access release will be pushed back to allow for improvements to the game’s UI.

Players who preordered the game through the Epic Games Store will see their early access date automatically change to reflect the new release date, with refunds issued for the original date. Those who preorder the updated early access are now available.
