The cult-classic RPG, Lisa: The Painful, gets a console port with the Lisa: Definitive Edition that delivers the same impact as the original while polishing rough edges and expanding the lore. Developed by Serenity Forge for PC in 2014, the RPG went on to gather a cult following. Now, with the Lisa: Definitive Edition, console players can get their hands on the game, with notable changes to comply with console rules and censorship.

The Lisa: Definitive Edition runs smoothly on consoles, with a 120 fps mode and pixel-perfect upscaling for a full HD experience. The UI has been polished, and new art has been added to prevent the background from feeling drab.

Lisa: Definitive Edition improves on The Painful with new enemy types, bosses, quests, and secrets, expanding replayability and expanding the lore. New story beats and choices leading to multiple endings have been added, with improved conversations at campfires allowing party members to expand on their backstories.

Notable additions in The Joyful include enhancements to the Warlord boss fights to keep players engaged, as well as 20 new tracks to enhance the atmosphere. Players who wish to dive right in can do so, with painless mode (easy mode) available alongside a jukebox to play all the music.
