Gamers Share Their Favorite “Old” Games
Looking for a thread that will take you down the nostalgia road for your favorite old games? You’ll find it with this one from the r/Games community. With MAG, MGS4, Oblivion, and Motorstorm all being mentioned, you’re sure to have something to reminisce about.
This thread is basically a perfect collage of everything I love about the internet. People sharing their fondest gaming memories, expressing their love for games that I never got around to playing, and reminiscing about the glory days of MAG.
I’m not going to lie, I used to play a lot of MAG. I even got the Big Boss emblem. I know, I know, you’re probably wondering how I even had time to get that emblem with my limited access to games growing up. But I did, and I still remember it.
Anyway, this thread starts off with a user sharing a picture of a box full of old games, including MAG, MGS4, Oblivion, and Motorstorm. Other users start sharing their favorite games, including Motor Storm, Infamous, and Civ Revolution.
The MAG talk starts off pretty casually, with users reminiscing about their love for the game. One jokes that they “couldn’t get in on the beta but got in on the non-beta,” and another simply states, “MAG was chaos, but it was fun.”
But then someone asks, “I haven’t played it – is it any good?” and another replies, “It was chaotic and fun. It didn’t deliver on its promises, but it was still good in its own way.”
Then someone else says, “Motorstorm was fun as hell,” and another replies, “Oblivion was so good. I remember playing it for the first time at recess in elementary school.”
“Is MAG any good?” someone else asks, and another replies, “It was fun. It’s still chaotic. It’s a good time.”
“Just don’t get too attached to anything,” another user warns, talking about the server issues that plagued the game.
“Is MGS4 any good?” someone asks, and a user replies, “It’s amazing. I got the Big Boss emblem,” and another expresses awe and congratulates the user on their accomplishment.
The discussion then turns to the difficulty of getting the emblem and the ranking system in previous Metal Gear games, and then onto other games, including Infamous and Civ Revolution.
Take a look at the thread yourself and reminisce about your favorites, or maybe discover a new game that you’d like to check out.
I, for one, am going to sit here and daydream about a MAG 2, because I’m a fool who knows nothing of time and business.
