Magic: The Gathering Expands Universes Beyond Line

Magic: The Gathering is upping its Universes Beyond crossover game with new entries based on the Fallout and Final Fantasy franchises, alongside Assassin's Creed and Jurassic World, as well as a Bladerunner 2049 spinoff, and more. The collectible card game is also looking forward to new Ravnica sets and even a weird, Wild West spin on Magic’s most recent format, Modern Horizons.

First up, following the Assassin’s Creed crossover arriving in July 2024 as 'Beyond boosters' containing new cards and reprints, Magic is bringing Final Fantasy to the game in 2025, in a tentpole release available in booster packs and legal across various formats, including Magic Arena. The set will encompass all main games from the franchise, including the recently released Final Fantasy 16.

However, the Fallout cards will only be legal in Commander, where players battle with 100-card decks led by legendary Commanders. The Fallout cards will represent different factions from the wasteland. They’ll be available as preconstructed decks, with more information available later this year.

The Assassin’s Creed crossover was revealed at the GenCon panel, along with several other upcoming releases. These include Ravnica Remastered, Murders at Karlov Manor, Outlaws of Thunder Junction, Modern Horizons 3, and Bloomburrow, a spinoff based on the original Alara block.
