The One Ring winner yet to sell MTG card despite high-stakes offers

The winner of the $2 million MTG The One Ring card has yet to sell it, despite receiving high-stakes offers from both Dave & Adams and Gremio de Dregones. A Canadian retail worker, who wishes to remain anonymous, currently has two offers on the table, with the potential to make millions.

The winner, reportedly a relative of a regular customer at MAXimum Cards and Collectibles where the card was sold, has not cashed in on the lucrative card yet. Dave & Adams is willing to pay $1 million for the card, while Gremio de Dregones has offered $2 million plus a paid trip to Valencia to see the World Magic Cup.

Brad Hartlin from the Professional Sports Authenticator says, "I have not heard of any movement on the card yet. I think that once it does sell, it will not be seen on the market for a long time."

This is despite excitement in the MTG community, with eager collectors perhaps engaging in a bidding war in the coming weeks. However, Hartlin says the cardholder’s relative, who works in retail, has no plans to quit their job despite the card’s substantial value.

The payout for the cardholder, based in Canada, ranges from $1.3 million to $2.89 million CAD, depending on the exchange rate.

The card’s authenticity confirms the end of the hunt for The One Ring. While it’s unclear if the cardholder is in negotiations with either Dave & Adams or Gremio de Dregones, it’s likely that they’re considering their options.

“The winner has not yet sold the card yet,” Hartlin says. “I believe there are offers on the table, but I don’t think it’s sold yet.”

The original article also mentions Hartlin traveling to Toronto to pick up the card and authenticate it at PSA headquarters.
