A user shares their progress in creating an incredible Minecraft city, and provides the perspective of a SimCity 2000 player by sharing a Blender view of the city. Many users mistake the image for a picture of SimCity at first glance.
City Planning Vibes
“Anyone else miss the gameplay feature in SimCity where you could build multiple interconnected cities?” one user asks. “This view in Blender gives me that same city-planning vibe.” Another user reminisces about the SimCity series.
The user shares a video showing the making of their Minecraft city, and a link to a Minecraft server where you can find the city. Then, the user responds to comments, providing a link to a different top view of an imported section of the Minecraft city.
“I used Jmc2obj with mcprep to import the city,” they explain. “I was able to use modded blocks.” The user also clarifies that the entire city took about 3.5 years, while the specific area showcased in the image took around 7-9 months.
“This is seriously amazing,” one user replies. Another is amazed by the progress and asks how long it took. “The entire city was probably around 1-2 years to build,” the user replies, “but the specific area that I’m showing here probably took around 7-9 months.”
“This sort of reminds me of SimCity 2000,” one user says, “which is a very good thing.” Another user compliments the city, saying, “It’s nice to see someone doing something different instead of all the modern cities.”
“I like this view,” another replies. “It’s awesome.”
