PlayStation Stained Glass: A Unique Blend of Nostalgia and Art
A piece of PlayStation Stained Glass art would look amazing in my house. At least, that’s what I’d like to think. After seeing the thread, in which one Reddit user posts a picture of a stained glass made in the likeness of the PlayStation console, I can’t help but imagine a whole row of them in my living room. Would my husband be okay with that? Probably not, but that’s neither here nor there in this moment as I gaze at this work of art and imagine having it proudly on display in my home.
“Playstaintion,” the play on words used in the thread title, adds a bit of humor to the discussion, but I can’t help but say it; this is something I would actually be down to own. The original poster says they would hang it “in a place where everyone can see it,” and while I’m not sure that everyone in the world would appreciate its aesthetic appeal, I know I would.
“Playstation stained glass” is also a phrase that makes me chuckle on its own, though I wouldn’t say I’m laughing at this picture. Rather, I’m laughing because the OP (original poster) says, “I really want to hang it in my house. My wife doesn’t understand,” and I cannot help but relate. I too would love to hang this in my home, but I can’t see my husband, who thinks all video games are “idiotic,” being on board with it.
A few people say that they would hang it, and a couple of others even suggest creating a stained glass design based on the Dualsense controller. “I would definitely hang that,” the original poster replies, presumably with a smile on their face.
“I actually think this is tasteful and appealing,” one user says, and I have to agree. As a fellow gamer and lover of all things aesthetically pleasing, I think this is a perfect blend of gaming nostalgia and artistic appeal. The use of stained glass evokes feelings of nostalgia, reminds me of the good old days of gaming, and makes me want to step into the nearest art store and find out how much it would cost to get one made for myself.
Another user says, “If I had that in my house, I’d be afraid of my husband asking to play it,” and I can’t help but laugh. The mention of the subreddit r/ATBGE suggests that some people may find the design to be in the realm of “awful taste but great execution,” but I think it’s just too cute to be considered “bad taste.”
