Upcoming Modern Warfare 3 Beta Exclusive to PlayStation

The Modern Warfare 3 beta is likely to be exclusive to PlayStation, as Sony turned down a four-year access offer in favor of a ten-year deal exclusively for Call of Duty. In addition to this beta news, the future of the Call of Duty franchise appears to be secured, as Microsoft has deals in place with Nintendo and cloud gaming platforms.

Upcoming shooter Modern Warfare 3 is set to be a generous offering for PlayStation players, as the video reveals that the Call of Duty beta is set to be PlayStation exclusive. The Arabic PlayStation video claims that players will “definitely” have access to the Modern Warfare 3 beta “at least five days before any other platforms.”

This exclusive deal follows a trend for previous Modern Warfare reboots, but it looks like it may be the last, as the changing landscape of the gaming industry may prevent such deals in future. While this news may disappoint Xbox players, the gap between beta access is only a matter of days, and the gameplay itself won’t deviate significantly from previous Call of Duty games.

Modern Warfare 3 will be available on both PS4 and PS5, as the game is launching on last-gen consoles. However, it does suggest that Xbox players shouldn’t expect to experience a significant loss when the next Call of Duty game arrives, as the beta access gap is only a matter of days.
