Red Dead Redemption on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation

Red Dead Redemption on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation is real, and it's coming in August. After years of rumors about a Red Dead Redemption remaster, and then leaks confirming a new port, Rockstar officially announces the western game's next big release. Alongside the main game, Red Dead Redemption will also receive the Undead Nightmare DLC as part of the ports, meaning you'll get Western zombies to deal with as well.

Release Date and Price

Red Dead Redemption is officially coming to Nintendo Switch and PlayStation on August 17. The western game will then get a physical release on October 13, meaning you won't have to solely rely on digital downloads. You'll be able to get Red Dead Redemption on Nintendo eShop for $49.99, and on Xbox 360 (backwards compatible) for $29.99.

PlayStation Bonus Content

If you want to play Red Dead Redemption on PlayStation, you'll also get the Game of the Year edition bonus content. This includes the more robust multiplayer mode, Red Dead Revolver, and the Undead Nightmare DLC, which puts you through a hell of undead Westerners.

The Red Dead Redemption port doesn't include a remake or remaster, but it's still nice to be able to play one of the best western games on modern consoles. If you want to play Red Dead Redemption in the meantime, you can get the first game in the series, Red Dead Revolver, on the PlayStation store for £7.19 until August 16.

If you're looking for a port, however, you may be disappointed to hear that Rockstar hasn't announced a Red Dead Redemption for PC announcement. Maybe the studio will one day see sense and let us experience the original game on our desktops. We'll be sure to keep you updated with all the latest news, however.
