Red Dead Redemption PS4 port

Red Dead Redemption PS4 port is real, but don’t call it a remake or a remaster. The Rockstar classic is coming to Sony’s flagship console and the Nintendo Switch, but the original Red Dead Redemption isn’t getting the same treatment as GTA 4 and GTA: Vice City. Don’t expect a PS5 version either.

Red Dead Redemption PS4 price

Red Dead Redemption PS4 price is $50, which some users feel is just too much for what is essentially an outdated game. Others argue that the price is inflated because gamers keep buying these ports, allowing companies to keep raising the price.

“I remember when I bought it years ago, it was $20,” one user says. “I bought it on Xbox One, and it was $20 on that too. Maybe it will go down to $20, I don’t know. But $50 feels a bit much.”

“I bought it on Xbox 360 years ago,” another user replies. “It was $20 then too. And the Xbox 360 version runs better on modern Xbox consoles.”

“I’m just so disappointed in Rockstar right now,” another user replies. “They could be doing so much more with Red Dead Redemption 2, but instead they’re just re-releasing older games.”

In defense of the Red Dead Redemption PS4 port, one user says, “I’m not sure why people think $50 is so unreasonable for this. I mean, it’s a game that people have been asking for years and years, and now that it’s here, people are complaining about the price? It’s a game that can be played offline with a whole new story.”

The general consensus, however, is that Red Dead Redemption 2 is a better game and Rockstar prioritizes GTA: Online over Red Dead Online. There is also disappointment that Rockstar didn’t put more effort into the port or consider remastering the game within Red Dead Redemption 2, as similar efforts were made with GTA 4 and GTA: Vice City.

“I’m mostly disappointed they didn’t make it Red Dead Redemption 2 Remastered,” another user replies. “It could have added a lot of value to Red Dead Online, and expanded the game’s map.”

If you love the game but don’t want to pay for it again, there are a few ways to play Red Dead Redemption on Xbox One for cheaper. Rockstar’s port includes the Xbox 360 version and Undead Nightmare, so you could pick up a used copy for Xbox One that includes both.

Alternatively, you could use emulators like RPCS3 or Xenia to play the game for cheaper (with potentially improved graphics) than the Red Dead Redemption PS4 price demands.

In any case, the lack of multiplayer in the port is seen as a downside, as the original Xbox version offers multiplayer and is considered better.

“$50 for a single-player game without multiplayer is a rip-off,” one user says. “I can get the original Xbox version for a lot cheaper, with the Xbox 360 version and Undead Nightmare.”

“$50 for a single-player game?” another replies. “There are better games available for the same price.”

“$50 for a port of a ten-year-old game that doesn’t have multiplayer?” yet another replies. “That’s a rip-off.”
