The PlayStation DualSense Edge: The Next Level of Controller Technology

The PlayStation 5 DualSense is already turning heads as the most innovative controller ever designed, but the DualSense Edge takes that crown even further with even more options and features to help you customize your play experience.

The PlayStation 5 DualSense is already one of the best controllers we’ve ever used, but if you want even more out of your PlayStation controller, the Edge version is for you. While the DualSense is already an incredible controller and you can read our own DualSense review here, the Edge takes the regular model’s customization options to the next level, with the ability to remap buttons, adjust stick sensitivity, and customize vibration intensity.

The DualSense Edge is also available in more colors than its standard counterpart, with seven options to choose from. However, the regular DualSense controller is arguably the more aesthetically pleasing of the two variants, with a more traditional design and color options that include black, white, red, blue, purple, and yellow. The DualSense Edge, on the other hand, is only available in white, although it does have a sleek silver edge.

The PlayStation DualSense Edge price is also considerably more expensive, coming in at $200. That’s over twice the price of two regular DualSense controllers and a similar price to a PlayStation 5 console. However, if you opt for the regular DualSense and buy two controllers, you’ll still have money left over for a game, whereas the Edge costs $200 all on its own.

Battery life is also a concern for both controllers, with the DualSense lasting around 6-12 hours, and the Edge lasting around 5-10 hours. Both controllers charge via USB-C, although the DualSense Edge takes a bit longer to reach a full charge. It’s also safe to leave either controller plugged in and charging when you’re not using them, but if you’re looking for a controller with a longer battery life, check out our best PC controller list.

The PlayStation DualSense Edge is the more customizable controller, but the regular DualSense is arguably more aesthetically pleasing.
