The Pokemon Go XL candy glitch has proven a popular method for trainers to quickly gather large amounts of the item, but Niantic is now cracking down on players caught abusing the exploit in Routes and cities. Those found using the XL candy exploit in Pokemon Go will now face bans, with the developer taking action against players abusing the glitch in its iconic AR game.

Players will face consequences for exploiting the new XL candy glitch in Routes, with Niantic sharing that it has taken action against players found using the exploit in the game.

“Getting banned by Niantic is never fun, but it can be especially upsetting when it’s for something as innocent as playing a game on your phone,” the developer says in a new blog post. “Unfortunately, we have to ban some players for abusing the game’s mechanics, including those who are exploiting the current XL Candy glitch.

“If you’re using the glitch to get large amounts of XL candy, we have taken action against your account.”

While Niantic has yet to specify what “action” entails, players found using the XL candy exploit in Routes and cities will reportedly face bans.
