The Pokemon Scarlet & Violet DLCs
We love both of Pokemon Scarlet & Violet’s DLCs, and with new details emerging about their respective Pokemon collections, that love is only growing stronger. The decision to pick between the two versions is going to be tricky, as both of them offer a refreshing Pokemon experience with the return of classics like Ninetales and Snorlax.
The Teal Mask
First up is The Teal Mask, which will bring exclusive Pokemon to Team Violet, tempting us to join the ranks of Lance’s elite trainers. While we previously knew about a couple of the Pokemon coming to the collection, a new trailer showcases the full roster, including favorites like Ninetales and Snorlax.
The Violet collection gets a considerable boost from returning Pokemon from all regions, including Johto and Hoenn. Honestly, I missed these all-time favorites in my Pokedex, so I’m excited to catch them again – especially adorable baby Pokemon like Vulpix and Igglybuff.
The full list of returning Pokemon is as follows:
That’s a total of 27 Pokemon, and that’s not even counting regional forms like Hoenn’s Sableye and Alolan Exeggutor. With this lineup, the DLC threatens to steal the show with its fantastic mix of adorable favorites and fearsome battlers.
As someone who likes to go all in on offense, I’m also pleased to see a mix of Pokemon types, from Fire and Normal to Bug/Flying and Water/Dark. With such a variety of Pokemon, I can explore new team compositions and get more strategic with my level-100 Pokemon.
With returning Pokemon like Snorlax and Milotic, I’m more than ready for Trick Room and Rain-setters to come storming back into my rotation. With the strategic value of these returning Pokemon, the DLC adds even more depth to the already fantastic Pokemon game.
The Indigo Disk
If The Teal Mask is giving you flashbacks to the good old days, then you’ll love the news about The Indigo Disk. The second Pokemon Scarlet & Violet DLC brings with it an incredible lineup of classic regional Pokemon, with a twist.
Whereas The Teal Mask offers returning Pokemon that are mostly exclusive to Violet, The Indigo Disk features regional Pokemon that are mostly exclusive to Scarlet. This helps players who prefer the classic designs to choose their version without feeling like they’re missing out on classic Pokemon.
Here’s the full list of classic Pokemon coming to The Indigo Disk:
In the same vein as The Teal Mask, The Indigo Disk offers a mix of adorable favorites and powerful battlers that should make all fans happy. We’ve got some old favorites like Beedrill and Lapras alongside more recent Pokemon like Charjabug and Vikavolt.
With such a wide variety of Pokemon types, The Indigo Disk gives fans of specific Pokemon types a chance to build teams with a greater degree of specialization.
