The sudden wave of Pokemon content creator bans on Instagram
The sudden wave of Pokemon content creator bans on Instagram has left the community bewildered, with some of the platform’s biggest names caught in the crossfire. A well-known figure in the Pokemon community, PokeRev expressed their own confusion over the ban, which appears to have impacted other notable content creators as well.
“I got banned on Instagram,” PokeRev announces in a video, which has since been made private. “I don’t know what I did wrong. I didn’t do anything bad. I’ve been using Instagram for like ten years, seriously. I don’t know what’s going on.”
Other content creators have since come forward with similar experiences, lending credence to the possibility that a wave of Instagram account suspensions is occurring. This despite the fact that no clear explanation has been provided by the platform regarding the reasons behind the bans.
“We were in the middle of a vlog and then suddenly, boom, we’re both banned,” YouTube creator Kaitlyn Gough reports, referring to herself and fellow content creator Stephen ‘Pokemonguides’ Wright. “I don’t know what we did wrong. I’ve been on Instagram for years, and it’s my main source of income.”
The incident has raised concerns about Instagram’s moderation policies and the potential impact on creators’ livelihoods. Many of these content creators rely on the social media platform to reach their audience and promote their content.
The lack of transparency from Instagram regarding the bans has further fueled frustration and confusion within the Pokemon community. The bans have sparked discussions about the need for clearer guidelines and communication from the platform.
“I hope this serves as a wake-up call to those who rely on Instagram for a living and don’t properly back up their content,” Gough expresses. “If this can happen to some of the biggest accounts, it can happen to anyone.”
Other Pokemon content creators have since come forward with similar experiences, expressing concerns about the potential impact on their livelihoods.
