The catch rate of Pokemon can determine how easy or hard your hunt for experienced, high CP Pokemon will be. It isn’t always about battling – sometimes it’s about remaining patient enough to get that Poke Ball wobble over and over before the digitally animated pocket monster joins your ranks.
There are some that are easier to catch than others, but we all know it can be easy or hard depending on the Pokemon. Some are terribly designed and ugly, making it hard to even want to catch them. Some others are particularly tricky to even get to. But would you expect any less from the biggest games on PC? Luckily, if you have the patience to wait, anything is possible.
Catch Legendary Pokemon with a low catch rate
These are all of the Pokemon with a catch rate of 3%:
But while some Pokemon are easier to capture, others are just impossible, making them a legendary Pokemon. If you do manage to somehow get your hands on 99 Poke Balls, patience, Skarmory and a Master Ball, there are 69 legendary Pokemon that are harder to catch. But it does pay off once you manage to do it, as legendary Pokemon are stronger and tend to have a very interesting ability. Only the hardest of the hard core Pokemon players will get one of these, which is something to be proud of.
Every trainer should be proud of getting at least one of these Pokemon that has a catch rate of 3%, because with their legendary status and rarity, these are probably the ones you want to catch the most. Here’s a breakdown of all 69:
Here are all of the Pokemon with a catch rate of 3%
Latios
Latias
Latios and Latias, the legendary Eon Duo, made their debuts in Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire, respectively. Both roam the Johto region and are encountered randomly in the wild. Unlike many others on this list, they aren’t necessarily hard to catch because of their stats or abilities, but because they run away after the first attack, leaving you to sit and hope for a few Pack  Moves. Patience and some spare Poke Balls are essential when trying to capture more powerful and legendary Pokemon.
Koraidon
Koraidon is the box legendary of Pokemon Scarlet, the home region of the titular Pokemon possessing the legendary Pokemon, Graphix. It’s a Fighting/Dragon Pokemon that looks incredible and specialises in boosting the power of Defence-boosting moves, making it perfect for its role as a box. While it can be ridden, it doesn’t fly, making catching one hard to avoid.
Miraidon
Miraidon is the future Paradox Pokemon and, like other legendary mascots, is just a forme of Koraidon. Miraidon is the Electric/Dragon Pokemon of the future and for some reason has a perfect design. It is one of few dragon Pokemon, so its typing is uncommon as an Electric/Dragon type. Miraidon can only be found in Pokemon Violet and is sought after because it doesn’t need to be caught to complete the game, so you could wait for the Ultra Moon-esque Pokemon Violet Reminiscence to be released to play with it. But you may not get it if it’s as rare as legendaries.
Urshifu
Urshifu is the Fighting/Dark type from the DLC of Pokemon Sword & Shield. It has a design that looks powerful and majestic, making it a perfect legendary Pokemon. Urshifu has two different versions depending on the tower it is trained in. Its pre-evolved form is found in the game, so there’s no need to capture this one – but only if you’re sure.
As the perfect example of a Pokemon, Urshifu’s two tower versions are trained in the Berserk and Negativity towers respectively. Learning different special moves will grant it different base stats. Its perfect design, powerful moves, and majestic stature is what makes Urshifu stand out from the rest.
How to catch Reshiram or Zygarde
These are two of the non-legendary Pokemon with a catch rate of 3%.
Reshiram is the fiery dragon-like Legendary Pokemon of Pokemon Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. A lot of people get it confused with Zekrom because of the way it is first encountered, but don’t be fooled, it is its own Pokemon. It is one of the most-wanted Pokemon, since it is one of the legendary birds – Ho
