Red Dead Redemption 2 Hidden Locations
Rockstar Game's Red Dead Redemption 2 offers a massive single-player experience filled with secrets. While the main story takes Arthur and his gang through various experiences, there are hidden areas waiting to be explored in the swamps, countryside, and forests.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is a fun and complex sandbox game, and it's easy to get distracted from the main mission. Here are some of the best hidden areas in RDR2 to discover when you're not hunting, heisting, or horsing around.
Aberdeen Pig Farm
One of the intriguing secret areas in Red Dead Redemption 2 is the Aberdeen Pig Farm. This sinister setup, run by a brother and sister duo, has been luring strangers for years. The pair's intention is to sell their victims to the highest bidder after having their fun.
If you've had your money stolen by the Aberdeens, you can reclaim it by dealing with them and retrieving your gold from a hidden cabinet. To find the Aberdeen Pig Farm, follow the train tracks north of Bluewater Marsh and take the northbound road to the farm's driveway.
Stuffed Gorilla
Deep in West Elizabeth's Big Valley lies a ravine where a gorilla statue awaits. The purchase of this statue was arranged by Mrs. Hobbs, a renowned taxidermist, but due to its unfortunate placement, it was never delivered. To find the stuffed gorilla, locate the ravine south of the 'Y' in Big Valley and examine the debris underneath the wooden bridges.
Grizzlies
The Grizzlies offer breathtaking views, but be cautious of random bear attacks as you explore. At the top of the East Grizzlies near Cumberland Forest, you'll come across a meditating monk who remains unresponsive to conversation. Disturbing his meditation through dishonorable means will give you a unique view and a few quiet moments to enjoy the environment before he becomes hostile.
Cauldron
The wild forests of New Ambarino are dangerous, but nestled between a tree hut, you'll find a cauldron. Here, a friendly stranger cooks up a pot of something delicious. Drinking from this cauldron will refill all your cores, making it a worthwhile risk despite the temporary blackout that follows.
Ghost Train
Northwest of Lemonye, a ghost train passes by during the early morning hours, adding a spooky element to your adventures. Be cautious, as you can still be hit by the ghost train if you're not paying attention.
Naked Man
In New Hanover, a wild and aggressive naked man roams the local woods, summoning wolves to attack. You can chase him back to his cave, filled with carvings and bones, and either kill or capture him.
Antler Knife
Near Hanging Dog Ranch in northwest West Elizabeth, a dead bear holds the Antler Knife, revealing a surprising victim trapped underneath. Despite being mortally wounded, the woman managed to kill her attacker, showcasing her incredible strength and resilience.
Drastic Measures
Completing the Marko Dragic quest will lead you to his robotic automaton in the Northern Hills of Ambarino. This homage to Nikola Tesla remains even after Arthur's journey ends, and keen-eyed fans will notice its resemblance to the Cybermen from Dr. Who.
Civil War Knife
In Fort Brennan, New Hanover, you can find the Civil War Knife in the basement of the first building on your left. This special melee weapon will increase your honor level and was likely left behind by a soldier fleeing from the Confederate Army during the Battle of Fort Brennan.
Secret Cabin
Riding along the river in the southeast corner of New Hanover, you'll stumble upon a small cabin that can be upgraded into a fully-fledged hideout.
