Looking for the Red Dead Redemption 2: ranking the Van Der Linde Gang from oldest to youngest? The Van Der Linde Gang are outlaws through and through, but their respective ages say a lot about their experiences, skillsets, and which among the group has been around the block – or rather, the prairie – the most.
Red Dead Redemption 2: Ranking the Van Der Linde Gang from Oldest to Youngest
Red Dead Redemption 2 brings us back to Arthur Morgan and his journey of redemption. It’s been years since he was a part of the Van Der Linde Gang, and after a botched robbery sets off a chain of events that saw everyone but him murdered, Arthur returns to the wild west to right his former life’s wrongs. As anyone in their 30s will attest – or anyone who has played the game itself – living a life of crime brings the best and worst things to ever happen to you. Here’s our Red Dead Redemption 2 Van Der Linde gang ranking from oldest to youngest – guess we better call them “midlife” problems now.

Uncle
Age has always been a bit of an eternal mystery for Uncle, but despite all those little adventures we’ve embarked on with him, there are still some basic details we don’t know about everyone. However, with some guesswork and finesse, we’re able to determine most of the gang’s ages.
Uncle’s age seems like it will forever be an unsolved mystery, but it’s likely he’s around Hosea’s age, if not a little bit older. Seeing as Dutch calls Hosea “old timer” and they’re both in their 60s, it seems likely that Uncle is around that mark too, making him approximately 55 – 60. Long before the Van Der Linde gang started, Hosea was Dutch Van Der Linde’s right-hand man for a reason – 11 years his senior, Hosea was able to out-scoundrel Dutch and was the only member that could keep a handle on Dutch back in the day.
This age range for Uncle explains why he didn’t see the Pendleton job through to the end and was content to let German and Arthur handle the job. Ten years younger than Dutch, he was likely around 29 when the gang was started and far too young to remember living and fighting during the Civil War. If he was around 20 when the gang was formed, that would make him around 70, which would definitely coincide with his appearance. While this would also mean that even he has his limits, it would also add weight to Dutch’s questioning of his decision to not kill Jack.
Uncle is, of course, none other than John Marston, the man who helped make the Red Dead Redemption franchise what it is today.
2nd Oldest: Abigail
At the age of 22 when Red Dead Redemption 2 begins, Abby makes up for her youth with a maturity that is far beyond her years. Acting as Arthur’s primary caregiver after the events that happened at the end of Red Dead Redemption, Abby is able to provide a different perspective on things and keep our hero on the path to redemption.
Abby is John Marston’s eldest legitimate child, born in 1895. Assuming that she and Jack were about the same age, we can assume her age at death to be about 44, with her birth year said to be between 1895 and 1900.
3rd Oldest: Sean McKee
This one’s straightforward enough. Ex-soldier Sean McKee is 28 years old at Red Dead Redemption 2’s beginning. McKee returns to face state execution after his botched robbery attempt alongside Arthur, Milton, and Javier. He’s the youngest of the Salazars and a less experienced member; therefore, he’s automatically slotted in as the third-oldest.
4th Oldest: Cheyenne
Cheyenne, an exiled member of the Unassigned Tribe, arrives in the later stages of Red Dead Redemption 2. She’s an experienced hunter, trapper, and survivalist, who, despite her edgy nature with members of the gang, becomes a strong addition. Cheyenne’s got spirit; and at age 31, she knows what she’s doing.
5th Oldest: Javier
Age-wise, we can see that Javier has had a tough life. Adopted into his family, he’s the youngest of the Salazar brothers, who are all several years
