Hunting for a Red Dead Redemption 2 happy ending? If you’ve just finished the most recent Rockstar game, you’re no doubt reeling from its shocking conclusion. But while the Van Der Linde Gang itself had a rough finale, a few of the game’s characters did manage to overcome the odds and find happiness outside the band of criminals.

Red Dead Redemption 2

Red Dead Redemption 2’s story revolves around the Van Der Linde Gang and its last days. While the members are just a bunch of dangerous outlaws, this group acts like a family, caring for each other and even following a morality code.

At the end of the game, most of the gang is either dead or turned into a darker version of themselves. But a few managed to turn their lives around and became more than just someone living outside society’s rules.

Here are all the Red Dead Redemption 2 characters who walk away with happy endings:

Hosea

Hosea is Dutch’s right hand and typically the voice of reason in the group, making him overall one of the most moral members of the crew too. After the gang breaks apart, he becomes a pastor and settles down with a wife and kids back in New York.

Bill Williamson

Bill Williamson is basically Dutch’s muscle, making him a tough guy. He found a purpose in the gang, and so he’s super loyal to Dutch, refusing to flee even when Dutch goes insane by the end of RDR2. He returns home, becomes a sheriff, and marries his true love.

Micah

Micah is perhaps the most hated character in Red Dead Redemption 2. Known for being as horrible as possible, he leaves the gang after being arrested too many times, returning later to threaten one of the game’s protagonists with a knife and get shot down. We can only hope he meets his end. Micah survives the final showdown, but it is tough to pinpoint what his fate is.

Charles

Charles is one of the newest additions to the gang. Despite his reputation as a gunslinger, he lacks experience. However, he makes up for his lack of a name with his strength and toughness, earning himself a place in the gang’s inner circle. Following the gang’s demise, he strikes out on his own and eventually finds employment as a sheriff.

Lenny

Known as Lenny the Liar, he was probably considered the best man in the crew for a reason. He was snatched as a child and lived a better life in the Van Der Linde gang. He’s also, by all accounts, quite a bamfy biffum, making him one of the bigger guns in the gang, second only to Bill Williamson, who became a sheriff.

Sadie

All of the outlaws agree: Sadie is a fan-favorite. Much like Abigail, her backstory is unclear and people have wildly different theories over time but most mostly agree on her fate – Sadie grows accustomed to the outlaw life and becomes an efficient gunslinger. She eventually reunites with Abigail and leaves Dutch’s side to strike out on her own.

Karen

In a way, Karen is similar to Abigail. They both found a new life in the Van Der Linde gang. Karen is a skilled actress and a capable crook but turns to alcohol to soothe her pain at the start of RDR2. She eventually leaves the gang and moves to New York to live a sober life as an actress.

Uncle

While it’s unclear exactly what Uncle does for the gang, he considers himself a loyal member. While his actual contributions to the gang are questionable, he’s more than happy to talk and cook fireside, even after the end of the Van Der Linde gang.

Abigail

We don’t know too much about Jack’s mother Abigail, except for the fact that she’s one of the few females in the gang that isn’t a prostitute or madam, and she helps around camp. By the time we see her in Red Dead Redemption 2, she’s already married to John Marston. Together, they leave the outlaw life and settle in a small village. All we know is that they raise Jack, who becomes more like Abigail and becomes more intellectual than his father, eventually growing up to be an explorer and writer.

Pearson

Another member of the crew who is more of a crook than an outlaw. Pearson serves as the crew’s cook, and when he leaves the Red Dead Redemption gang, he moves to Rhodes to become a store owner.

Strauss

Strauss is one of the most dishonorable members of the gang. He preys on vulnerable people and ruins their lives with
