Character Tier List
There are eight playable characters in 20 Minutes Till Dawn, each with their own unique abilities and upgrades. Here's an overview of each character:
Hina
Hina is a ninja with a highly interactive ability that allows her to dash and leave behind a damaging Shadow Clone. This ability becomes incredibly useful against powerful boss enemies.
Hina’s most useful skill is the Shadow Clone, which activates upon Hina’s death, dealing damage to any nearby enemies. This character upgrade also doubles the damage dealt by the clone, providing a reliable way to clear out hordes of enemies.
Lilith
Lilith is a necromancer who can summon spirits from defeated enemies to increase her damage output. Her ability to replenish her health through the Branches of Yggdrasil is incredibly useful, especially at higher difficulty levels.
Spark
Spark, the lightning-affiliated character, can summon bolts of lightning that can fill the screen with electricity. By investing in skills from the Electromancy tree, Spark can become incredibly powerful with the right abilities.
Scarlett
Scarlett, the fire mage, may start off slow due to the ramp-up time for fire damage, but this character can become incredibly powerful with the right skills. The Fireproof tree grants Scarlett additional fire damage and resistance to fire, as well as the ability to completely replenish health upon killing an enemy with fire damage.
Abby
Abby, the wildcard character, can empty her clip in random directions, allowing for frequent triggering of abilities that activate upon emptying the clip. By enhancing Abby’s firing and movement speed, you can make her an incredibly fast and nimble force on the battlefield.
Shana
Shana, the first character players encounter, is a character who can reroll level-up choices, providing more control over their build. In addition to this, Shana has beneficial character upgrades, such as increased experience gain and a tripled effect on the next upgrade obtained.
Luna
Luna is a character with black hole abilities. She can create black holes that draw in enemies, creating both offensive and defensive opportunities. The ability to generate additional black holes and grant bonus experience upon the destruction of a black hole remains valuable throughout the entire game.
Hastur
Hastur is a character who summons tentacles that slam down on enemies for damage. The effectiveness of Hastur’s skill increases with upgrades from the Tentacular tree, which grants additional strength for every tentacle summoned. Hastur can also gain the ability to fire off the tentacles, making them even more useful in battle.
While some characters may be better equipped to handle specific situations, none of the playable characters in 20 Minutes Till Dawn are inherently bad. Any character can be enhanced through personal upgrades, allowing you to increase firing and movement speed.
