Best Two-Player Games on PC 2023
We’ve got a partner, and we’re looking for games that we can play together. We’ve been playing “It Takes Two” with our other half, and it’s been a lot of fun. We’re looking for more co-op games that we can play with our partner, so we thought we’d see what you all recommend.
We know that some of you have partners too, so what are your favourite co-op games? We’re looking for games that are a little more complex than “Overcooked 2”, with some problem-solving and fun gameplay. Your suggestions include some old classics and some lesser-known gems, so we’ve tried to list them all below.
A Way Out
“A Way Out” is a great game, and it’s even better when you’re playing it with a friend. It’s an immersive prison break game that’s split into two distinct, but connected narratives. If you can’t get your friends to play with you, you can always play with a stranger online, but we’d recommend co-oping with your nearest and dearest. It’s a much more personal experience, and your differing viewpoints can really shape the story.
Portal 2
You really can’t go wrong with “Portal 2” if you’re looking for a funny co-op game. The mix of shooting and platforming with your co-op buddy is great and the writing is, as always, superb. On top of that, you can play through the entirety of the game in VR with your partner, which is a cool experience.
Haven
If you’re looking for something a little more puzzle-orientated, then “Haven” might be the game for you. In Haven, one player controls a princess while the other controls a knight. The knight must help guide the princess to a safe place, but there are plenty of obstacles in their path. If you’re looking to play this game with a partner, you’ve come to the right place, as Haven was built for two.
Unravel 2
“Unravel 2” is another great co-op game if you’re looking for something a little more light-hearted. As Yarny and Keats, you’ll solve puzzles, swing across chasms, and travel through lush landscapes. We’d recommend this sequel if you enjoyed the first game, because it’s just as charming.
Stardew Valley
Stardew Valley has been a great co-op game for us and we’ve played it with our partner quite a lot. It’s a relaxing farming simulator game where you can spend your days taming the wilderness and making friends in Pelican Town. There’s always something to do in this game, whether you decide to spend your day fishing, tending to your livestock, or just hanging out with your partner.
Overcooked 1 & 2
Overcooked is a silly but enjoyable co-op game regardless of whether you’re playing with a partner or not, but it’s even better if you’re playing alongside someone you care about. If you enjoy it, you might also want to check out Overcooked 2, which is essentially the same game but with new levels to master.
Moving Out
A silly but enjoyable co-op game which is essentially a survival game with a bit of a twist. Instead of fighting your way through waves of monsters, your aim is to actually avoid fighting as much as possible. Find a way to get from the start of the level to the exit without a single confrontation.
Tools Up
“Tools Up” is a co-op game that’s not just fun to play with your partner, but with friends as well. Each level is essentially a puzzle with a tiny twist – you and your buddies are working together to build a machine to complete the level. The twist is that one of you is invisible!
Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime
One of the best co-op games on PC, Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime is a charming little game where you play as a couple trying to save the universe. The twist is that you’re in control of a space ship that contains the very heart of your relationship. You will have to work together to keep your ship safe and complete your mission.
Don’t Starve
There are plenty of survival games out there, but “Don’t Starve” is one of the best.
