Deconstructeam's new game The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood

Deconstructeam’s new game The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood has a tentative release date set for August 16, as we got to check out the latest preview, and it’s looking like a very interesting take on fortune-telling – which is, after all, a very broad umbrella. A Spanish indie studio that’s perhaps best known for The Red Strings Club and Gods Will Be Watching, this marks the team’s first foray into sci-fi.

The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood is a narrative game with a unique selling point – you get to design your own deck of fortune-telling cards as Fortuna, a witch exiled from her coven. That’s your goal, anyway – there are plenty of distractions along the way, including talking to witches, reading fortunes, and dealing with cosmic shenanigans.

I got to check out the latest preview, which was basically everything after the first section of the demo – where you’re getting used to the card creation system – and this time I got to explore the cottage a little bit more, interact with some more interactive objects, and basically check out what The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood has to offer a little more in-depth.

The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood seems to be a very relaxing game, which I’m definitely okay with. The demo got a lot of positive feedback for its card customization system, which is definitely a fun little time, but what I found to be the most engaging part of the demo was simply hanging out with the witches on the front porch of the cottage.

The cottage itself is quite nice – it’s a two-level affair, with the first level being the hall and kitchen and the second being the library and Fortuna’s bedroom. It’s definitely very homely, with lots of little touches to look at and interactive objects to play with, including a library of interactive fiction that serves as a mini-game, created in collaboration with other writers, and serves as a method of escapism for Fortuna as she tries to forget her exile.

The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood seems to be primarily about talking to witches, reading fortunes, and dealing with cosmic shenanigans. I don’t know that I got to see any of the tarot card-reading action, but the rest of it seems to be very nicely put together. I’m very much looking forward to getting my hands on it and seeing if I can get my fortune told – I’m sure I’ll have plenty of cosmic shenanigans to deal with, too.

If you’re also interested, we’ll also be putting up a chat with Jordi de Paco, the creative director, so if you have any questions about The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood, that’s where you should send them. You can wishlist The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood on Steam or GOG and check out the demo on YouTube.
