Like in the original game, every Risk of Rain 2 run is filled with a variety of items, including Lunar Items that offer powerful buffs at a cost. These items are acquired by spending Lunar Coins, either through Lunar Pods or at the Bazaar Between Time.
Every character in Risk of Rain 2 has a Lunar Item, and there are also others that can be found throughout the arcade game that offer powerful benefits, but at the risk of receiving negative effects. We went into the retro game to find out what these items do and how you can use them to their full potential.
Each Character's Lunar Item
Each Risk of Rain 2 character has access to their own Lunar Item. These can only be acquired by spending Lunar Coins, either through Lunar Pods or at the Bazaar Between Time.
Lunar Pods are scattered throughout the maps and can be opened for one Lunar Coin. However, you have no idea what type of item you'll receive, so it's a case of trial and error until you find the one you're after. The Bazaar Between Time offers guaranteed Lunar Items for two Lunar Coins, but these items can be incredibly powerful and are therefore riskier.
Risk of Rain 2 Lunar Items:
Eulogy Zero – Increases the chance of regular items spawning as Lunar Items.
Stone Flux Pauldron – Doubles health but halves movement speed.
Beads of Fealty – Don't affect stats directly, but they allow you to access a unique area and fight an alternate final boss when you obliterate yourself at the Obelisk.

Brittle Crown – Increases gold gain on hit but penalizes you with gold loss when you are hit.
Corpsebloom – Doubles healing over time.
Defiant Gouge – Summons enemies when using a Shrine, with the difficulty of the enemies increasing with each stack.
Essence of Heresy – Replaces the special skill with Ruin, allowing you to stack damage before unleashing a powerful explosion.
Focused Convergence – Speeds up teleporter charging but shrinks the teleporter zone.
Gesture of the Drowned – Reduces equipment cooldown but automatically activates equipment as soon as the cooldown finishes.
Hooks of Heresy – Replaces the secondary skill with Slicing Maelstrom, a powerful shot that deals damage and explodes after three seconds.
Mercurial Rachis – Creates a Ward of Power, increasing damage for all characters within it, both friend and foe.
Purity – Reduces skill cooldowns but increases the chance of random effects having a harmful outcome.
Shaped Glass – Amplifies base damage by 100 percent but reduces maximum health by 50 percent, turning you into a glass cannon.
