Old World Blues from Fallout: New Vegas

Old World Blues from Fallout: New Vegas is still on the minds of many of the RPG game’s players, as evidenced by a long thread on the game’s official Bethesda forums. The thread, which contains over 100 pages, is mostly filled with various discussions about the DLC and its Lobotomites, but there are plenty of moments where the thread’s participants express their love for the Obsidian Entertainment expansion.

“I’ve been a long-time fan of The Venture Bros,” one user writes. “I’m sad we won’t get a Season 8, but I think of Old World Blues when I think of it, and I even use a few of the quotes in game.”

Another user writes, “I’m sad that The Venture Bros TV show was cancelled. It’s my favourite show. Luckily, the writers are doing a comic book series now,” which is a reference to the fact that the comic book series The Venture Bros: All the Suits was created by Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer, the show’s co-creators.

There are also plenty of discussions about New Vegas’ various DLC, with one user expressing their love for Old World Blues and another person who writes, “I would like to hear from those who played Old World Blues and Honest Hearts. I have a feeling I like OWB better, but I wonder if HH is worth it?”

The Lobotomites from Old World Blues get a lot of love throughout the thread, with one user playfully shouting “Lobotomite!” Another writes, “When I first started OWB, I yelled ‘Lobotomite!’ out loud in real life when I saw the first one.”

Another user writes, “I really like Joshua Graham as a companion. He is a savage and has a great voice. Really enjoyed his quest.” They then write, “Dead Money was pretty good, but Lonesome Road was not my thing at all.”

Elsewhere in the thread, someone writes, “I love OWB,” and someone else replies, “I loved OWB as well. I thought it was the best DLC from New Vegas.” Someone else writes, “I enjoyed Lobotomites and the jokes about the X-13 suits.”

Finally, someone writes, “I love the writing in OWB. It had a very cool atmosphere and the characters were memorable.” If you’re interested in checking out Old World Blues for yourself, you can find a complete list of all the Old World Blues codes here.
