How to Restart Pokemon Sword & Shield

If you're looking to restart your Pokemon Sword & Shield save file, it's a simple process. However, if this is your first time doing it, it can be a bit confusing. Before deleting your data and starting a new game, there are a few things you should do.

To restart Pokemon Sword & Shield, go to the main menu and select 'save data', then choose 'restart game'. When given the option to 'delete save data', select 'no, don't delete', and then 'finish'.

Now you're ready to start a new game of Pokemon Sword & Shield.

What to Do Before Starting a New Game

Before you begin your new game in Sword & Shield, there are two essential steps you should follow:

  1. Catch the Pokemon that are only available once per save file. Make sure to find and capture each legendary creature, including Eternatus, Zacian (Sword), and Zamazenta (Shield).
  2. Trade any items to Pokemon Home. Remember, you can't transfer items to Pokemon Home, so trade them to other copies of Sword & Shield if you want to keep them.

Once you've completed these steps, you're ready to delete your previous save file and start a fresh game.

How to Evolve Kubfu

In Pokemon Sword & Shield, you have the option to evolve Kubfu into either the Single or Rapid Strike Style. This decision is made at the beginning of the game, so it's important to restart your save file using the steps mentioned above before evolving Kubfu.

After restarting, you'll have the opportunity to choose whether to evolve Kubfu into the Single or Rapid Strike Style. To access this option, you must catch Calyrex for real. When you catch Calyrex, you'll have to decide whether it will ride a Shadow-Type or Ice-Type Legendary horse Pokemon, such as Glastrier or Spectrier.

Please note that the evolution of Cosmog depends on the version of the game you have. In Pokemon Shield, Cosmog evolves into Lunala, while in Pokemon Sword, it evolves into Solgaleo.

Additionally, certain legendary Pokemon can only be caught in specific versions of the game:

  • Pokemon Shield players can catch Kyogre, Lugia, Latias, Palkia, Thundurus, Zekrom, Yvetal, and more.
  • Pokemon Sword players can catch Groudon, Ho-Oh, Latios, Dialga, Tornadus, Reshiram, Xerneas, and more.

By catching all the Pokemon in Sword & Shield, you'll have plenty of replay value. You can also create new teams and take on different challenges to make each playthrough a unique experience.
