Unlocking Pets in Across The Obelisk
Across The Obelisk is one of those games where there are thousands of things to unlock. It’s right there in the title, after all. From items to quests and more, there’s so much to discover in this underrated Dreamsite Games deckbuilding roguelike game.
Across The Obelisk was built from the ground up for replayability. When it was in Early Access there was a lot of content, but the full-release version of the game has more than double the amount. There are over 15 different Pets in the roguelike game, with each one needing some convoluted questline to be completed in order to be unlocked. So, let’s go into how you’re supposed to obtain these “adorable” things in Across The Obelisk, one by one.
Asmody
To unlock Asmody, you need to head to the River Bank “A Fun Game” Map Node in Senenthia. Behind the waterfall, you can either [Combat] or [Threaten] to obtain the Ruined Book, which is a reward for either option.
Betty
To obtain Betty, go to Senenthia. On the Main Road Map Node, interact with “The Lost Sheep” event. [Combat] the crazed sheep and take Betty back to its home at Betty’s House “Betty Returns Safely” Map Node. Use the [Bargain] or [Murder] options.
Bunny
Bunny is a default pet that can be bought from any town shop.
Champy
To unlock Champy, go to Velkarath and go to the Goblin Caves “The Goblin Chieftain” Map Node. Choose the [Combat] option to clear them all out. Receive a Small Log as a reward and hold onto it until reaching Faeborg.
At The Tyrant “Beavers Finally Rest” Map Node, choose either the [Combat] or [Ambush] options and beat the power-hungry bear. Then, choose the [Throw] option that talks about throwing the Small Log to the Beaver with the small axe to unlock Champy.
Chompy
To unlock Chompy, use the same method as with Champy, but choosing the [Throw] option that talks about throwing the Small Log to the one with the Harpoon.
Chumpy
To unlock Chumpy, use the same method as with Chompy, but selecting the [Throw] option that talks about throwing the Small Log to the one with the Stick.
Daley
To obtain Daley, go to Faeborg. At the Forest “The Unlucky Trainer” Map Node, choose the [Throw] option and aim for a five or higher in the Group Event. If successful, Daley joins the party.
Flamy
Flamy can be found in Senenthia. Go to the Suspicious Hatch “The Hatch” Map Node and choose the [Enter] option to guarantee entry or the [Open] option for a “chance” at entering. If Cornelius is in the party, choose his option to get in safely. In the Sub-Dungeon map, reach the Summoning Circle “The Summoning Ritual” Map Node and choose the [Persuade] option or Cornelius’ option. Then, go to Velkarath for Act 2 or Act 3 and visit the Stone Table “The Banquet” Map Node. Choose the [Accept] option to release the imps and gain Flamy as a result.
Lianty
Lianty can be found in the Aquarfall Marsh. Head to the Spider’s Lair “The Spiders’ Cave” Map Node and choose the [Jump] option to get in. If Thuls or Zek are in the party, choose their options to get in safely. Inside the Sub-Dungeon, take the path to the Dead Adventurer “A Narrow Gap” Map Node and take a chance to get through the gap using the [Enter] option. Alternatively, if Heiner, Bree, or Grukli are in the party, choose their unique options to get through guaranteed. Interact with the Dead Adventurer and choose the [Open] option to pop open the cocoon and unlock Lianty.
Mozzy
Mozzy requires Aquarfall as Act 2 and Velkarath as Act 3. In Aquarfall Marsh, head towards Malukah’s Shop using a boat.
