According to an insider, Atlus isn’t working on any more Persona remake remakes, and the company is apparently focusing all efforts on Persona 6.

If you were hoping that the recent Persona 3 remake confirmation might herald further remakes in the JRPG series, it looks like you’re out of luck – at least for now. A reliable Persona insider claims that Atlus isn’t working on any more remakes, and is instead focusing all efforts on Persona 6.

The news might be disappointing if you’re hoping for a Persona 4 remake, but keep in mind that Atlus may consider remaking another game in the series if Persona 6 does well. That said, the focus right now is on the next mainline entry, which is exciting considering it’s been seven years since the last new entry in the series.

The insider, who goes by the handle of “MbKKssTBhz5” on Twitter, shares insights on the future of the series, confirming that Persona 3 Reloaded is the only remake currently in the works.

“There are currently four Persona games in development,” they say. “In addition to Persona 6, we have P5X, Persona Asa, and a long-awaited fighting game. Atlus is not working on any other remakes, so don’t expect questions about them in surveys.”

This news may come as a disappointment if you were hoping for more remakes, but it’s worth keeping in mind that Atlus may consider another game in the series for a remake in the future. After all, Persona 3’s success may well have influenced their decision to pursue a remake, and it offers a taste of what we can expect from the series going forward.

On the other hand, it’s also disappointing that Atlus doesn’t plan to remake Persona 4, which is arguably the most popular entry in the series. However, as we explained in our Persona 3 remake preview, it’s important to be patient and trust in the company’s decision to prioritize Persona 6.

In any case, with multiple games in development, the Persona series looks set to continue bringing us a variety of experiences within the Persona universe, and we’re eagerly awaiting news and updates on all of the upcoming projects.

The insider also provides some information about the fighting game mentioned earlier, stating that it has been in and out of development for a long time. “It’s been in and out of development for a long time,” they say. “It’s unclear if it has been cancelled. Both Atlus and the partner developer (possibly Arc System Works) have been busy with other projects.”

For now, we’ll have to wait for official news about the Persona series, but keep an eye on the latest developments in this eagerly anticipated JRPG series.
