Raspberry Pi Nixie Clock Kit with MicroPython Voodoo
A Raspberry Pi Nixie clock kit that uses MicroPython to animate the digits with a Nixie tube effect is an affordable, fun way to bring the retro feel of Nixie tubes to your maker space or home. Maker Yakroo, who previously built a Pi-based Nixie thermometer, has created a clock that tracks the time and date, along with temperature and humidity. The clock’s custom PCB supports the Raspberry Pi Pico, along with the DS3231M RTC module and ST7789 displays.
Yakroo shares a breakdown of the project on Hackster, along with a demo video on YouTube. The Nixie Pi clock uses MicroPython code to update the displays, giving them a classic, hypnotic glow.
