Skyrim Companions: A Diverse Range of Characters

In the world of Skyrim, there are numerous companions to choose from. Whether you need some extra support in battles or assistance with quests, these hirelings can be hired for a small fee to enhance your gameplay experience.

The range of Skyrim companions is vast, encompassing simple villagers and renowned warriors alike. Each companion brings their own unique background and personality to the table, providing players with engaging dialogue and interactions throughout their journey. Some companions even have the potential to become marriage or steward candidates.

Recruiting Skyrim Companions

To recruit a companion, you'll need to pay a fee. The cost varies depending on the companion, but the majority can be hired for 500 gold. This makes them accessible to players who want to add some extra support to their battles and enjoy the unique interactions that these hirelings offer.

Here are some of the Skyrim companions you can recruit:

Companion Starting Location
Erik the Slayer Rorikstead
Jenassa Dunmer Ranger
Teldryn Sero Dragonborn DLC

It's worth noting that some hirelings can only be recruited after completing a personal quest involving them. For example, Erik the Slayer starts off as a simple villager in Rorikstead, while Jenassa is a Dunmer Ranger.

Teldryn Sero stands out as a unique hireling added by the Dragonborn DLC. As a Dunmer Spellsword with a lot of personality, he can be hired after completing a quest. Alternatively, you can choose to recruit him as a Blades member, although he cannot be married or made into a steward.

Most hirelings have a maximum level of 40, but Erik the Slayer and Stenvar can reach level 60 with enough experience.

So, whether you're looking for a simple villager or a seasoned warrior, there's a Skyrim companion out there for you. Take advantage of their unique abilities and make your journey through Skyrim even more memorable.
