Stranded: Alien Dawn Introduces Saltu Region
A new update for Stranded: Alien Dawn has arrived, bringing with it the hot and wet tropical region of Saltu. This challenging new area presents unique obstacles for players in their quest for survival. The update also includes new dangers and rewards, adding depth to the game.
In Saltu, food spoilage becomes a pressing concern due to a food rot bug. Players must carefully manage their colonists' diets to prevent shortages. The region experiences a wet season with heavy rainfall, which poses additional risks to crops. When the wet season transitions to the dry season, extreme heat becomes a threat to crops as well.
Another new feature in Stranded: Alien Dawn is the introduction of insect nests. Clearing these nests yields valuable silicon, but it also attracts more insects to the player's base. Additionally, clearing an insect nest increases the risk of disease for colonist workers, emphasizing the need for antibiotics.
Meanwhile, the reduction in Shrieker nests in Saltu means players must be cautious with their carbon-producing facilities. Running out of fuel to cook food and power vital equipment can have dire consequences.
To help players prepare for the challenges of Saltu, the update introduces the ability to drop camp and area flags. This allows players to control where their survivors sleep, work, and rest. Activities can also be restricted to protect workers from threats such as toxic ash events and dust storms.
For improved crop management, Stranded: Alien Dawn offers advanced tools like survival kit bedrolls and rations. These tools can be used outside the safety of the base to locate resources efficiently. Additionally, players can craft harvesting tools and respirator masks to aid in crop management and protection against toxic ash events and dust storms.
Signal flares have also been added in update 11, serving as a means to illuminate attacking alien bugs during nighttime. With these new features and enhancements, Stranded: Alien Dawn continues to offer a complex gameplay experience influenced by RimWorld, The Sims, and tower defense games. Don't miss out on this exciting update!
