The Framework Laptop 16, powered by the latest-generation AMD Ryzen and Radeon GPUs, is now available to preorder. Customers in the US, Canada, Germany, France, UK, Netherlands, Austria, Ireland, and Australia can now place their orders for this highly upgradeable, customizable laptop that promises to be a game-changer in the market.
Specifications
Starting at $1,399, the base DIY Edition systems come with a Ryzen 7 7840HS processor that can boost up to 5.1GHz, while top-spec machines feature the Ryzen 9 7940HS with a 5.2 GHz boost. Graphics duties are handled by the onboard Radeon 780M, but you can also purchase a Graphics Module for more graphics power.
The first available Graphics Module is the Radeon RX 7700S with 8GB of GDDR6 and a max TGP of 100 watts. Naturally, this will affect the battery life, but it’ll be worth it for the extra performance.

The Framework Laptop 16 is constructed of magnesium alloy and aluminum, making it lightweight at just 5.3 pounds. With customization options always being important, the ability to easily replace the motherboard in the future is a big plus.
It also supports up to 64GB of DDR5-5600 memory and has dual M.2 slots for NVMe SSDs. The 16-inch QHD+ display features a 165Hz refresh rate, 1,500:1 contrast ratio, and 500 nits brightness rating. Audio is handled by four speakers, and the battery and charger ratings are 85 WHr and 180W GAN respectively.
The Framework Laptop 16 will be available to preorder for a fully refundable $100 deposit. Customers can choose between the DIY Edition and preconfigured Ryzen 7 7840HS. Adding the Radeon RX 7700S Graphics Module increases the price to $1,799 for the DIY Edition.
