The new Metal Sonic has officially won over the Sonic Prime fandom. Initially, the new design faced some backlash from fans, but Metal Sonic’s personality in the Netflix show’s second season has won over haters with his witty remarks and sarcastic personality.

Metal Sonic’s initial design change was met with criticism from fans. While the blue blur’s new look still retained some similarities to the classic design, such as the yellow rings, he was markedly different from what fans had come to expect.

However, Metal Sonic’s new attitude in Sonic Prime season 2 has swung the pendulum back in his favor. Fans have come to adore Chaos Sonic’s sass and overall attitude, a refreshing change from the serious, stoic Metal Sonic we’re used to.

This pleasant surprise comes as a result of Metal Sonic’s dialogue in the show, which has given him an unexpected personality. Metal Sonic has a snarky and sarcastic personality, something that hasn’t really been seen from him before.

This new Metal Sonic attitude is something a lot of people can relate to, as it reminds us of the blue blur’s portrayal in the ‘00s. His wisecracks and sassy comebacks give Metal Sonic a personality that we’ve been craving for years.

Chaos Sonic’s popularity is in full swing, as evidenced by the surge of fan art and edits dedicated to him. Generally speaking, there’s nothing people love more than a good meme, and Chaos Sonic certainly qualifies.

What’s really remarkable about Chaos Sonic is that he’s voiced by Deven Mack, who also voices Hedgehog Sonic. Mack’s performance injects Metal Sonic with more personality than ever before, making him a standout in the series.

Speaking to NextShark, Mack explained that he approached the role as a “90s slapstick tribute,” injecting a touch of nostalgia into Chaos Sonic’s characterization. He drew inspiration from the iconic “you’re too slow!” taunt from Super Smash Bros. Brawl, aiming for a “sadistic” twist on that attitude.

If you want to experience the new Metal Sonic for yourself, the second season of Sonic Prime is now available to watch on Netflix. You can also check out all the latest Sonic news here, or take a look at some of the best PC games you can play right now.
