A new Yakuza Like A Dragon Gaiden trailer

A new Yakuza Like A Dragon Gaiden trailer has fans worried about series protagonist Kazuma Kiryu, after he appears to break down in tears at the 1:00 mark of the new video. The trailer dives into the full plot of the upcoming spinoff game, as well as its gameplay mechanics, but Kiryu’s emotional moment is stealing the show.

Kiryu is seen sitting in the same location as when the game was first revealed, openly weeping. It’s a rare sight for the stoic protagonist, and it’s unclear whether he’s processing past events or if something tragic has occurred.

“That was heartbreaking,” one highly-rated post on the Yakuza subreddit reads. “I am genuinely concerned for Kiryu. I hope the next gameplay trailer shows us what’s going on.” Another comment says, “He looks so broken. I can’t wait for the game to come out.”

The Yakuza subreddit is filled with similar comments, with fans describing the scene as heartbreaking and anticipating an intense game. Some fans speculate that this trailer hints at Kiryu’s broken state in Like A Dragon Gaiden, which could explain why he’s in such a different environment compared to the previous footage.

In the previous footage, we see Kiryu’s new grappling hook weapon and spy attire, but the transition from this breakdown to his tough appearance in Infinite Wealth is intriguing.
