Remedy’s Alan Wake 2 Delayed
Remedy’s upcoming Alan Wake 2 is getting a delay, as the action game will move from its planned October 17 release date to October 27 to avoid competing with high-profile releases like Spider-Man 2 and Super Mario Bros. Wonder. The move positions Alan Wake 2 as a perfect Halloween game, and allows it to garner more attention after the release of everyone’s favorite web-slinging superhero and plumbers in the spotlight.
With Spider-Man 2 and Super Mario Bros. Wonder releasing on the same day, a release date battle was seemingly unavoidable. However, Remedy announces that it has decided to give more space to everyone to enjoy their favourite games.
“We know you’re all eager to play the game, and we are too! However, we’ve decided to give more space to everyone to enjoy their favourite games,” the Remedy Twitter account says. “After a lot of consideration and many sleepless nights, we’ve decided to move the release date to October 27.”
The new Alan Wake 2 release date is October 27.
The Alan Wake 2 delay positions the game as a perfect Halloween game, which gives it more opportunity to gain attention after the release of the highly anticipated Spider-Man game and Mario sequel.
There are quite a few October releases, with both Baldur’s Gate 3 and Tears of the Kingdom set for the month alongside the previously mentioned Spider-Man 2 and Super Mario Bros. Wonder. Outside of those, Resident Evil 4 Remake and Assassin’s Creed Mirage are also releasing in October as well.
November is relatively empty, with only WarioWare: Move It! and Super Mario RPG as notable releases. Fans also hope for a physical release of Alan Wake 2 in the future, as many have pointed out that some of the game’s issues could be solved by a disc release.
