The Assassin's Creed Mirage Haptic Feedback Shirt

If you thought Assassin’s Creed: Mirage‘s new war-torn fantasy setting was going to be its most exciting departure from previous entries in the series, you’re going to want to hear about this. A collaboration between Ubisoft and OWO, the Assassin’s Creed Mirage haptic feedback shirt aims to enhance your gameplay experience by literally bringing you closer to the action, letting you feel every punch and stab.

A part of a 100-unit limited run, the Mirage haptic feedback shirt is an upgraded version of OWO’s premium haptic offering, and comes with ten haptic sensation locations, high-conductivity electrodes, Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity, and an eight-hour rechargeable USB Type-C battery.

While it looks like something you’d wear on a night out in Shoreditch, I’ll admit that I would 100% wear this on a night out in Shoreditch. The Mirage edition includes an Assassin’s Creed-style lycra shirt, 20 gel pads, a storage pouch, and the haptic feedback simulator itself, which is the part that actually stimulates you with electric pulses.

Obviously, it wouldn’t be much of a gaming accessory if it worked with Crysis, but the Mirage shirt works with games like Halo Infinite, Apex Legends, Half-Life: Alyx, CS:GO, Valorant, and Assassin’s Creed: Mirage (obviously). You can adjust the intensity of the feedback through the OWO device and mobile app, and the haptic sensations library ranges from wind and stress to knife wounds and shots, providing a wide range of immersive experiences.

The limited edition release of the Mirage shirt adds extra value with its bundled Assassin’s Creed-style lycra shirt, which I’m assuming you can wear when you’re not using the simulator, and the storage pouch and gel pads, which you can use with other compatible devices.

Despite my obvious excitement for this product, I do have some reservations. Firstly, at $599 (around £530), this is a pricey piece of kit. While you get a lot for your money, I would have liked to see the manufacturer improve the suit’s battery life or reduce its weight so that it’s more comfortable for users. The Mirage edition will also probably sell out quickly, but I’d recommend getting your hands on the non-limited edition device.

All in all, the collaboration between Ubisoft and OWO demonstrates the constant innovation in the gaming industry, and I can’t wait to see what comes next. Whether it’s VR or haptic feedback, opening ourselves up to new possibilities is what keeps gaming exciting, and Assassin’s Creed: Mirage looks set to revolutionize the gaming experience.
