Assassin's Creed Mirage: Returning to Its Roots

Assassin's Creed Mirage is a highly anticipated game that is said to be 'smaller and more tightly designed' compared to recent entries in the series. According to creative director Stéphane Boudon, this return to the franchise's roots was necessary after the expansive scope of previous Assassin's Creed games.

Ubisoft has confirmed that the size of the map in Mirage will be similar to Unity's Paris. While the map may be smaller, it promises to offer more gameplay opportunities and greater depth. The game will feature more viewpoints, missions, and content than ever before at launch, with continuous updates to follow.

Exploring the Mirage Landscape

Traversing the world of Assassin's Creed Mirage will be an exciting journey. Mounts such as camels and horses will be available for transportation, along with small boats for sailing. The traversal system has been refined, providing a modern feel similar to that of Odyssey or Origins.

Old-school fans of the series will be pleased to know that Mirage brings back the classic Eagle Vision, allowing players to mark objectives and enemies. A manually controlled eagle will assist by providing a birds-eye view of the surroundings to identify key points.

Additionally, Mirage will feature parkour mechanics reminiscent of the original Assassin's Creed games, the Ezio trilogy, and Odyssey. The smooth flow of Altair's movements offers full control and maintains the classic feel of the series while incorporating elements from newer games.

The Core of Assassin's Creed

Despite the changes in form and content throughout the Assassin's Creed series, the core pillars have remained intact. Creative director Stéphane Boudon compares the franchise to an old oak tree, evolving and growing while retaining its identity.
