Assassin's Creed Mirage Release Date

Assassin's Creed Mirage finally has a release date! You'll be able to play the highly anticipated new Assassin's Creed game in less than a month. Mirage takes us back to the earlier entries in the series, offering a smaller and more linear gameplay experience. We had the opportunity to get our hands on Mirage earlier this year to see if it lives up to the hype.

Set 20 years before the events of Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Mirage follows Basim's journey from being a street thief to becoming an assassin. At E3 this year, we had the chance to play as Basim, exploring his origins and witnessing how he joined the brotherhood. Get ready to dive into Mirage and uncover its exciting storyline.

Assassin's Creed Mirage Pre-Order

If you're eager to experience all that Mirage has to offer, make sure to pre-order your chosen edition. There are various editions available, so it's important to know what you'll be getting before it's too late. With the release date of October 12, 2023, just around the corner, securing your pre-order will ensure you don't miss out on any bonuses or limited editions.

The base game with pre-order bonuses is priced at $50, while the Standard Edition is $30, offering the same content as the base game along with Mirage's pre-order bonuses. If you're confident in Mirage's quality, you might want to consider the Deluxe Edition, priced at $50, which includes all the pre-order bonuses plus additional extras. And for the ultimate Assassin's Creed fan, there's the Collector's Case, priced at $150, packed with a variety of exclusive items, including a statue of Basim.

Assassin's Creed Mirage Map Size

Mirage's map size is smaller compared to previous entries in the series. It's similar in size to Unity's Paris or Constantinople in Revelations. However, don't let the smaller map size fool you. Mirage offers a unique gameplay style that sets it apart from past Assassin's Creed games, making it a standout entry in the series. Although Mirage is a prequel to Valhalla, you can enjoy it as a standalone adventure without needing to play either game to understand the storyline.

Our team had the opportunity to experience Mirage firsthand at GDC earlier this year. Here's what we thought of the game:

Mirage Gameplay

In an interview with PCGamer, Assassin's Creed Valhalla director Patrick Plachert revealed that Mirage offers a different gameplay experience, deviating from the series' traditional formula. Despite its smaller, more linear nature, Mirage is still considered a triple-A title and not simply a cheap spin-off. Ubisoft has invested significant time and effort into Mirage, and players are excited to see the new direction the series is taking.

According to Plachert, Mirage is a "very personal journey" for Basim, offering "very different gameplay" compared to the rest of the series. The Assassin's Creed universe has been reinvented in Mirage, providing fans with a fresh and unique experience. The map in Mirage is smaller, similar to Unity and Revelations. Whether you're a long-time fan or new to the series, Mirage serves as an excellent entry point into the world of Assassin's Creed.
