Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty Expansion: Early Players Rave About the Alive and Expansive World
The Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty expansion is on tour, with players who have early access to the game’s new story describing the new content as “alive and kicking” and offering a more “expansive” and “alive” world than the base game. We’ve got all the early impressions from fans on social media and Reddit as Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty arrives.
Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty gives us a new city to explore in Dogtown, and fans are loving the changes made to both the story and the game’s mechanics. The expansion’s story sees the protagonist head to the new locale to hunt down a “ghost” that’s been uploading digitalised versions of one of the city’s most famous rock bands into the brains of unsuspecting citizens, which sounds like a lot of fun.
Players describe Phantom Liberty as feeling more “alive” and enhanced from the base game, and that the world just feels more expanded and detailed. Dogtown specifically is getting tons of praise for its amazing visuals, unique atmosphere, and just the overall dynamic feel.
“The story is action-packed and full of combat, keeping me engaged the whole time,” one player describes. “The new skill tree has a new ‘relic’ category,” which sounds similar to the “digital-treasure-hunting” category from the base game. “It seems like it’s related to the device that uploads Johnny Silverhand into the protagonist’s brain. The DLC will finally unlock the previously unusable ‘relic’ option on the stat screen!”
Phantom Liberty launches on September 26 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC players.
