Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.0

Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.0 is coming alongside the Phantom Liberty expansion, and developer CD Projekt Red has shared plenty of details on what to expect from the new content drop next month. Alongside new items, quests, and districts, the update includes significant changes to skill trees, armor, and police AI that will impact how you play the RPG game, so here’s what we learned from the Opening Night Live stream.

Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.0 will come alongside Phantom Liberty, and both will be released on September 26. There are new quests, such as ‘Chickens Come Home to Roost’ which has you investigate the B-Team, a group of hackers who are pulling off high-profile heists across Night City. There’s also a new district, Dogtown, which is an add-on to Pacifica and will offer an “entirely standalone experience.”

Skill tree overhaul

Starting a new game is recommended if you want to take advantage of the differences in skill trees, but you can respec your existing character if you’re just looking for a fresh start. There are plenty of new perks that change how you play Cyberpunk 2077, with a bullet-deflecting skill now available for katana users, new executions for melee weapons, and new abilities exclusive to Phantom Liberty owners.

Cyberpunk 2077’s NCPD has been overhauled, with the AI now setting up roadblocks and giving chase. CD Projekt Red has also worked on making the AI more aggressive when it comes to combat, as enemies will attempt to ram you off the road while chasing you in a vehicle.

Check out our guide to all the new Cyberpunk 2077 items coming with update 2.0 and Phantom Liberty, and don’t forget to prepare your new apartment with these essential Cyberpunk 2077 decorations. You’ll also want to get up to speed on the Cyberpunk 2077 Night City map, as Dogtown is a new region you’ll visit during Phantom Liberty.
