Top Diablo 4 Classes

Despite its long history, Diablo 4 has received favorable reviews from critics, players, and publications alike. Many consider it to be a significant high-point for the franchise. Blizzard has refined the robust set of character classes, resulting in a more balanced roster than previous entries.

Blizzard has made a few tweaks to the classes in Diablo 4, but the overall power levels remain largely unchanged. To ensure you don't invest time into a subpar class, we've provided a class tier list that breaks down each class's ease of play and overall power, from best to worst.

S Rank

Sorcerers occupy the S Rank alone due to their overpowered survivability and sheer damage output. With Archon and Resurgence, they can cast a shield around themselves and become virtually indestructible. Energy surge allows constant casting of the strongest spells. For the best experience, try the Diablo 4 Sorcerer Build.

A Rank

Necromancers, though not as powerful as Sorcerers, are excellent for solo play. Death Nova provides excellent self-healing without drawing attention. Ruinous Reave deals huge amounts of area-of-effect DPS and weakens enemy defenses. For more survivability, use a staff and the Manathrust skill for a massive lightning strike.

Barbarians are strong and hard to kill, earning them a spot in the A Rank. Ancient Rage makes it nearly impossible for enemies to kill them. Barbarians hit hard with Diablo 4's revamped Hammer & Mace weapons. The Ancient Hammer feels like it should have a defensive option attached to it, preferably with the Ground Slam skill.

Rogues have joined the A Rank thanks to the addition of stealth, positional attacks, and utility skills. Diablo 4's core fundamentals prevent stealth from being overpowered, requiring strategic thinking when equipping a rogue. The positional attack system grants rogues an extra auto attack, and multiple useful builds can be created using utility skills.

Druids are considered the worst class, in part because they are balanced oddly compared to the other classes. Beast and spirit bonuses are lacking, making it harder to access the best weapons and armor. The Druid's damage output is lower due to only having two damage dealing skills. Additionally, the Druid moves slowly, making it easy to outmaneuver. However, it is still possible to make a good Druid. We provide guides on how to make a Druid in Diablo 4 and some Druid build recommendations.

There aren't any outright unplayable or broken classes in Diablo 4, but some are weaker than others. The endgame content in Diablo 4 allows players to create the perfect build, starting at level 50 with access to the Paragon Boards. At level 60, players can embark on a new journey through Sescher, the Diablo 4 Hell Cross-server Instance, and customize their characters further. There's plenty of life in Diablo 4 after level 60, with plenty of engaging content.
