Learn how to summon Golems in Diablo 4 and gain a powerful ally in your battle against evil. To create a Golem, complete the Necromancer: Call of the Underworld quest. This class allows you to summon undead creatures and cast bone spears. Unlocking the ability to summon Golems will strike fear into your enemies.

Diablo 4 Necromancer Class

The Diablo 4 Necromancer class specializes in the undead. If you enjoy summoning hordes of skeleton soldiers, the Golem variant is a valuable asset to your Diablo 4 builds. Unlike other abilities, summoning Golems does not require essence, making them highly effective in battle. However, there are certain requirements to meet before you can summon Golems.

Unlocking Golems in Diablo 4

Prior to starting the Necromancer: Call of the Underworld quest, unlock the Menestad Waypoint. This quest takes place in the Western Ways and Sallow Riverbanks area. Once you reach level 25, the Necromancer: Call of the Underworld quest will appear on your map. Pray at the Shrine of Rothma in the Western Ways area of Fractured Peaks to meet Maltorius, a spectral figure who will teach you how to build a Golem.

Collect 12 Unbroken Bones, which can be obtained from skeleton-type enemies. You'll find groups of skeletons in the Sarkova Pass and Western Ways area. Be cautious of elite skeletons and Skeleton Ballista, as they have powerful attacks. Evade their attacks by watching their loading animation.

Return to Maltorius with the 12 Unbroken Bones. He will give you the next objective: finding a vile artifact that grants the power to create a Golem. The Bitter Cave, marked with a Cellar map icon, is located southwest of the Shrine of Rothma. Jump down the cliff side to enter the Sallow Riverbanks area.

The Bitter Cave houses the Jar of Souls artifact. Open the jar and fill it with the souls of enemies that spawn in the cave. Kill the enemies and walk into the glowing green souls to fill the jar. Once the jar is full, Maltorius will appear and grant you the power to build Golems.

Using Golems in Diablo 4

After completing the Necromancer: Call of the Underworld quest, you'll unlock the Book Of The Dead ability tab in the character menu. Choose the type of Golem you want to summon and select an upgrade. Only one Golem upgrade can be active at a time. The Iron-type Golem requires reaching level 32 before it can be summoned.

Assign the Golem spell to your hot bar by opening your skills menu. The Golem will automatically spawn when the ability is placed on your hot bar. Activating the Golem spell will cause the Golem to respawn at your location.

Having both the Golem summoning skill and minion summoning skill on your hot bar may limit your offensive capabilities. With fewer skill slots, you'll rely more on your minions for damage. You can switch your Golem variant in battle by accessing the Book of the Dead skill tree, but this will cause your current Golem to die and trigger a cooldown before summoning a new one.

If your Golem dies, it will automatically respawn after a short duration. The Bone Golem acts as a protector, taunting nearby enemies to attack it. This makes it an ideal tank companion. Increase your character's Thorn stat to help the Bone Golem endure more damage.

The Bone Golem is a great choice for solo players, providing a buffer against enemy attacks. Upgrade 2 enhances the Bone Golem's survivability and offensive capabilities with Thorn damage.

The Blood Golem does not taunt enemies like the Bone
