Looking for the Diablo 4 item rarity? You’re in the right place. Understanding how rarity works in Diablo 4 is crucial for gearing up, and it’s clear from the beta that the character's gear power level greatly affects the game’s challenging enemies.

Diablo 4 item rarity tier explained

There are five Diablo 4 item rarity tiers: Common, Magical, Rare, Heroic, and Legendary. Gear drops in these tiers based on a set percentage within a specific zone. Here are the drop rates in World Tiers One and Two.

The main difference in Diablo 4’s gear system relates to the special stats that Legendaries and Uniques can equip, called Imprints. These Imprints offer unique bonuses and sometimes affect specific gear types or all gear, making it important to prioritize gear with powerful Imprints and build a character around them.

Players are looking forward to adding even more to their characters with these Diablo 4 sacred items. Just like normal sacred gear, these items can be upgraded even further to increase the stats on both normal sacred and Ancestral Sacred gear.

How to upgrade Diablo 4 sacred gear

The ability to upgrade Sacred gear is unlocked once the player reaches World Tier Three. Unlike normal gear, sacred item versions have specific NPCs to upgrade their levels. Here are the NPC locations for Sacred gear upgrades:

Progression into World Tier Four should be saved for a fully upgraded gear set, and the goal for World Tier Four is to wear a full set of upgraded Sacred Legendary/Unique items.
