Diablo 4 Season of the Malignant Guide
Looking for a guide to the Diablo 4 Season of the Malignant? The Malignant season is one of the most challenging in Blizzard’s RPG game, with some of the most challenging monsters in the game appearing, along with some of the best rewards.
The Diablo 4 Season of the Malignant introduces Malignant monsters and Malignant Hearts, which can be socketed into jewelry for powerful modifiers. You’ll need to complete the campaign to access the seasonal quest “Burning from Within,” then speak to Vytran in Kyovashad to get started. He’ll guide you through the quest and unlock Malignant Heart crafting options, then instruct you to head to the Forest Clearing cellar southeast of Menestad to find and defeat a Malignant monster.
Diablo 4 Malignant season gameplay
Once you’re in the cellar, you’ll see the monster in question, a Malignant Devourer. Vytran will tell you to use the nearby light to weaken it, then it’s just a case of attacking it until it dies. Speak with the survivor, Cormond, outside the clearing to complete the objective.
You’ll then be tasked with gathering materials by defeating monsters in a nearby Malignant den. Cormond will give you the “Gather Supplies” quest and point you toward the southwest. There’s a bit of back and forth in this section, but you’ll eventually reach the Ravening Pit, where you’ll face three Malignant enemies and collect their hearts.
Upon returning, Cormond will unlock new crafting options. You can use his workbench to forge a Brutal Malignant Invoker, which will force spawn a specific Malignant Elite. You’ll want to use this to target-farm specific hearts, as each dungeon has a specific outgrowth type that can be cleared using the corresponding Invoker.
You can look for dungeons marked with a green leaf on the map to find Malignant Tunnels. Each dungeon has a specific outgrowth type, and you’ll need to proceed to Dindai Hollow, southwest of Cormond’s workbench, to defeat the Malignant Elites inside.
You’ll want to trap their hearts, then activate the “Invoke the Malignant” event to target-farm specific Malignant Elites. You’ll likely have to fight them anyway, but you’ll at least be able to obtain their specific heart to complete the quest.
