The Ruins of Eridu dungeon is just one of the many exciting locations you'll explore during your journey through Diablo 4. While other dungeons may prove more challenging, the Ruins of Eridu still pose a few threats, especially if you're unprepared. Our Diablo 4 review highlights both the best and worst moments of the game so far, but in this guide, we'll focus on the essential activity of farming. The dungeon also rewards you with valuable treasures, obtainable by clearing out the enemies within. Here's how you can conquer the Ruins of Eridu in Diablo 4.
Location and Layout
The entrance to the Ruins of Eridu dungeon is located in the Lake of Ill-Omen section of the Hawezar region. Head towards the Vyeresz Waypoint and proceed west. Look for a short trail leading up to the cave's entrance.
Upon entering the dungeon, you'll notice its straightforward layout. There are only a few paths, mostly leading to dead ends to prevent excessive backtracking. The first notable event you'll encounter is the first boss fight.
Clearing the Ruins of Eridu
The Ruins of Eridu consist of two main areas: the Rotting Halls and the Fallen Chambers. Each area has its own set of enemies, but the layout remains the same. To reach the Fallen Chambers, look for an opening in the northern wall that leads to a small room with a few enemies. While you can proceed directly to the next area, we recommend clearing the Rotting Halls first due to the higher number of enemies.
In the Rotting Halls, you'll encounter a mix of Undead and Fallen enemies. As you delve deeper into the dungeon, Fallen enemies, including Fallen Shamans, will appear more frequently. Your initial objective is to eliminate all enemies in this area. We suggest heading south towards the Chamber of the Reanimators, a room with a high enemy density.
Once you've cleared the Rotting Halls, proceed to the Fallen Chambers. Although smaller in size, this area houses more powerful enemies. Here, you'll need to defeat two Banes of Eridu. As Elites, they possess greater health and deal more damage compared to regular enemies at the same level. The layout of the Fallen Chambers is fairly linear, allowing you to bypass most enemies.
Upon reaching the center of the Fallen Chambers, you'll encounter a large circular room with a staircase in the middle. This staircase leads to the room where the Banes are located. However, there's no need to take the stairs, as they only lead back to the beginning. Instead, run along the western wall until you find the stairs.
You can sneak into the room without alerting the Banes, but take advantage of this opportunity to land some free hits. Once you've defeated the Banes, proceed to the next area, the Lair of the Riser. The final boss chamber is relatively spacious, but you can easily avoid most enemies by hugging the western wall. Your ultimate adversary, the Spiritcaller of Flames, awaits you here.
The Spiritcaller is a Fallen Shaman, granting him access to various fire-based skills. He periodically summons pillars of fire and fireballs. Fortunately, his moves are manageable, without any devastating attacks to worry about. The boss also summons Fallen companions to aid him, but they pose little threat. If needed, you can always return to the Rotting Halls for additional grinding.
By completing the Ruins of Eridu in Diablo 4, you'll receive the Sacrificial Aspect for Necromancers. This aspect enhances the bonuses of your Sacrifices by 15 percent, making it a valuable addition to top-tier Necro builds.
